Of course this forum is about people expressing their individual and differing views.
It's also about other people disagreeing with those views and expressing their own differing views.
It's even possible that someone else might then disagree with those views that are differing from the original differing views and want to express their own differing views.
Of course that's only my view, you might disagree.
If you do I might have to then disagree with you, and if I do, I'll be expressing my own differing views, not telling you that you can't express your  differing views!

I dont agree...... xshrug

i object to people who should know better announcing on a forum that there is no chance of the game taking place

I've actually seen the board which had the chances of it being on as being very slim. It was only the unforecasted warmer spell that helped it to clear. I presume in future no updates on the pitch should be put on here?

Yes but to announce that there is no chance of the game going ahead is pointless, there would have been a few that would have made alternative arrangements having heard it, coming from the stadium announcer no less!

thought the attendance was above our normal average, so don't see the point you are making Gregg??
Anyone really wishinf=g to go would have looked for the official announcement

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

It's not often I agree with Kebabus, but on this issue he does have a point. The fact that it was an above average attendance is irrelevant because Boxing Day games generally get bigger crowds anyway. I know several people who took on board the message that the game was virtually certain to be off and consequently made other arrangements which they then stuck to. These may not fall into your "really wishing to go" category, but they were definitely in the "probably would have gone" category and for all I know there could have been hundreds more or them. I don't blame anyone for passing on information, but in hindsight, it was probably a mistake to broadcast the message that the game was almost certainly not going to be played as I am absolutely certain it cost our club a good few quid.

Am I seeing double or has someone Spiked you’re drink over the festive period?

For the record I was one of the few who decided to make other arrangements purely on the basis which was put onto the website. I rely on the information which is posted on here and most of the time it’s correct but unfortunately this time it wasn’t. However, I do not put any blame on any individual who puts these messages up although they do owe me a drink or two having to put up with the outlaws!

I modified my original and somehow it got up there twice ... but I have deleted it now.

Like you, I don't blame anyone for posting info that they genuinely thought was true, but for future reference and with the benefit of hindsight, it does occur to me that it is in our club's best interests to stay positive about a game being "on" all the while there is a chance that it will be played.
