130 mile round trip for nothing!! Not happy...
I for one will not be going back there to pay my money at their gate.
No consideration for the travelling fans , a firm decision should have been made at 11.30.
Absolutely disgusting. :-(
Poor show Harrow ...
Lets hope Billericcay can make a decision on Tuesday.

A local ref was called who didnt want to call it off so early when the temp could raise and the pitch becomes ok,

What's the point of calling a local ref if he hasn't got the bottle to make a decision ?
Although the sun was shining it was still freezing cold and there was no chance of the temperature rising enough to make a difference.
At 11.30 it was either playable or not.

Although this may not be what HBFC wanted either, I can't see this late cancellation debacle happening at PP.
I will make the midweek trip if I can when it's re-arranged, but lessons need to be learned from  this, make no mistake.

Heard the club can claim some expenses back, dont know how much though. Not Harrows fault as they wanted the game on as well. It was the ref who called it off not Harrow. A local ref was called who didnt want to call it off so early when the temp could raise and the pitch becomes ok, it was the match ref who made the decision in the end after about 3 inspections. Harrow havent cashed in at all they just sold drinks and food to those who wanted to buy it the same as we would in the same situation. Just means another crap away trip midweek. A thursday by the sounds of it.
I bet if they were playing aveley it would have been called off earlier i will not be using the bar or buying any food.

So let me get this straight.......

1. The version we got in the Harrow bar was that the referee would leave it up to both managers to decide whether they wished to play.
2. According to a post on the Ryman site both teams and managers wanted to play.
3. According to the same post the referee called the game off because he was worried about the safety of his linesman.

By the way when exactly did Harrow know there was going to be an 11.30 pitch inspection? In future could they communicate this in some way before the event? Best not to leave these things a secret. Also could pitch inspections be carried out by more decisive referees when large numbers of people are travelling? Wealdstone seemed to find a local referee who called the game against us off very early in the day. The decision should have been made at 11.30.

Fans of both Harrow and Dartford were poorly served today in my opinion.

But this will happen again.

It was the ref who made the decision though not Harrow Borough FC. What doesn't make sense is why the ref had a look at 1.30pm and decided to leave it until 2.10pm to do another inspection then leave it up to the 2 managers to decide before he then calls it off  xshrug xshrug xshrug. If anyone is at fault and to blame then it has to be the referee.

I can't see to many fans making the midweek journey to Harrow, it took us at least 1 1/2hrs today, it'll be even worse on a Thursday night.

Pete Sampson must be totally p155ed off as he's come all the way down from Merseyside and took public transport to get to the ground only for it to be called off not long after he got there. Had it been decided at least 2hrs before then he could've gone to Charlton to watch them play his other team Tranmere Rovers.

The things you do for the love of DFC ay Pete  xbow.

From what i understand and heard in the bar a local ref was called in to do the pitch inspection at 11.30am but he didn't want to make a decision at that time and wanted to see if the temperature went up as this could then make the pitch playable leaving the team no option but to travel and us fans as well. As i've mentioned already this isn't really Harrow Borough's fault but imcompetant officials yet again.

Both teams wanted to play the game.

What a farce. Lack of communication and poor organisation.  :x a waste of time and money; as somone above said, had we known earlier we would have gone to Fulham vs Villa.

I have just returned from a wasted journey to Harrow Borough along with around 200+ other Darts' supporters.  What is the point of calling in a local referee at 11.30 to make a decision on whether the pitch is playable and then for this individual to pass the buck to the match referee when all and sundry will have arrived at the ground?

I would be surprised if the club didn't write a strongly worded complaint to the Ryman 'Mickey Mouse' League on behalf of the supporters.  The Ryman League need to investigate pronto and provide us with some answers.  It really is not good enough for a senior semi professional league to allow 400-500 people to arrive expecting a match when the frozen state of the pitch was never going to defrost in the sub zero temperatures experienced today.

Perhaps the next time this official is undecided if a frozen pitch is likely to cause a postponement he suggests supporters arrive armed with the wife's hairdryer so we can at least do our bit to get the game played.

Sounds like similar controversy surrounds the postponement of Hendon v Hastings. The ref arrived an hour late, did not look at the pitch till 2.20 and called it off at 2.30. I think we know how Hastings fans there must have felt.

Not a good feeling being treated like a mug is it? We're only supporters after all.

Shoddy all round! As we arrive, spotted Youngy having a beer on the corner next to coach..so er..smelled a rat. Spoke to 3 or 4 players who all said although they agreed pitch was probably not playable down parts of one side....it was nothing that could not have been solved much much earlier! This weather is now so common-has nobody got any contingency plans? Oh, and I don't want to go all grassy Knoll, but did you notice that the bar had not been bottled up ready for a visit of Hundreds?
Looking forward to getting out of this monkey league and looking forward to a more professional approach-even when cancellations are on the cards!
Grrrrr.

Well said Skip!

Like everyone else, 4 hours wasted today and what made it worse was talking to their stewards/officals when I arrived to hear they knew about 11 that it was unlikey, what a joke!
