Well that was a thoroughly enjoyable game with lots of good football played by both teams on a sticky dog of a pitch! Hats off to Ahford who played some nice stuff and had a right go...I hope they do well for the rest of the season!

Ashford scored with their fitst attack as yet again we went 1 behind. Flans back headed went splat in the deep end and Youngy brushed the number 9 who went over for a pen which was slooted home with aplomb...but was completely against the run of play as believe it or not we played really well in the first half of a game and at HOME!!

Ryno whipped in a free kick that was deflected in to ease any nerves before Danny nutted in after an excellent header back by Els. Noble could have had a hat trick and we played some good stuff with Els pulling the strings and Danny and Burnsy running them ragged up top....and Ashford equalised right on half time against the run of play!

Second half Burnsy scored and then we didnt really do that much although RJ should have finished the game but the keeper made a decent save from his effort. Ashford rolled up their sleeves had a go and reallyput the pressure on our creaking back 4 who's collective lack of pace was shown up today!

A pleasing 3 points and I reckon the heavy pitch today will mean a few changes on Tuesday. For me Rook and Coyle should start probably for Ryno and Flan/Beales...I will let you decide!

A very well fought 3 points won today against an .Ashford reminded me of ourselves. At times they were in control of the match playing the ball on the deck and playing some really nice football and then other times completely switching off and looking awful.
When Ashford took the lead it was completely against the run of play and I felt confident that would still win the match. Two quick goals from the Darts and I was thinking that we could run out easy winners. I was really shocked when Ashford equalized again against the run of play.
Again back came Dartford and soon took the lead again at the beginning of the second half.  After that Ashford kinda did a Darford and rolled up their sleeves and really put us under a lot of pressure. This time is was a surprise that the equalizer did not come. We did have another couple of chances in the second half with 2 blatant pushes in the box been ignored by the Ref who seemed to spot the things that did not happen and miss the obvious.

Well done Dartfod for holding out  xbow xbow xbow

You must have been watching a different game to me DHS because for long periods we were played off the park. In fact we played our “get out of jail free card” and like the Tonbridge first half we were lucky not to concede more goals. Although we have added a little more in the middle with extra mobility we now look more vulnerable at the back where we are deserting our posts and at times today I really felt for Adam. I actually came away from the game disappointed with the overall performance and for the first time I’m not sure how many of our players can bridge the gap to the Conference South.

Not sure where DJJ I state how brilliant we were and how much we outplayed the oppo?!? Both defences were not great hence lots of chances and goals but overall you have to admit was an open entertaining game to watch!

However we did score 3 and create 3 more guilt edge chances (against a team actually in form in this division) Noble twice and Johnson. Ashford had loads of posession and at times in that 2nd half we couldnt get out of our own half....but Andy didnt have all that much work to do!

I think Coyle has to play because he has a little bit of pace and yep the defence will need surgery in the summer but I think most people agree with that on here and reckon TB will do what is necessary....in the summer!

bloody marvelous 3 points.at 2-1 and 3-2 we looked like we would score loads more and make the game safe but we did not. we played  4 4 2 in the first half with noble not quite wide enough but blood hell burns and harris were outstanding.they played off each other and ran the defenders ragged.they are our best front two by a mile on that showing and both did the biz by scoring.
when we went 3-2 we nearly threw it away with a ridiculous 4 5 1 , first by pulling harris wide and tucking noble in and leaving burns up on his own.then taking hayes off and pulling burns back with rook on his own.
this is defensive and negative and i think it worries the players by making them think they must not make a mistake and it takes away our abilty to make the game safe.the midfield gets crowded and you see no decent play with men just scrapping for the ball.anyway we got away with it.sometimes i come away from a game really happy with my team getting 3 points in a backs to the wall or gritty performance and sometimes i come away with 3 points and not happy because we did not do justice to our talents.today was the latter. i really dont want to see my best forwards toiling away aimlessly out wide especially when they are good enough to murder the opposition
and finally their number 3 was awesome and as for the ref all i can say is that fat twats should not be allowed to be refs

we played well with some really good football 1st half but the team failed on 2 counts 1] schoolboy [ parks] defending for the both goals and 2] failure to convert very good chances , noble poor on 2 occasions . the real situation is that at RLP level we just do have a higher enough goals to chances ratio as with the RLN1 we created gods amount of chances and took a reasonable amount of them but today is NOT thye RLN1

therefore 2-2 at half time should have been 4-1 to the darts , game over

full marks to getting a 3rd[ and winner] quickly after half time but from then on it got orse and back to the olfd habits of continually giving the ball back to the opposition so as they could continually pressure

didnt understand taking a winger off and therefore not having any width as any real creation disappeared and we just about scraped home

at the end of the day we won and its 3pts [ and I am delighted ] but my heart was in my mouth every time their wingers ran ran at our back four with the resultants crosses
whatever happened to that rock solid defence that only conceded 5 goals in the first 10 game s

MOTM for me lee burns

Agree, it didn't work BUT I was impressed with Rook's contribution, he won every long ball.. but as he was the only stricker there wasn't anyone supporting him so pointless.

I know it's early days, but I can see Rook and Burch working as a good partnership next season.

Tough match today.  Full marks to Ashford who did not turn up to play spoiling tactics but came to play football.  Dartford played well in the first half and created a number of chances, but some shoddy defending resulted in conceding two poor goals.  However, when standing behind the deep end second half, it was apparent that the pitch at that end is very poor and hard to play on.  The sooner that it is dug up and fixed properly, the better.

Ashford had far more possession in the second half, but did not greatly trouble the back four, who were enjoying defending on grass.

Very disappointed that we ended up with a 3 - 0 yellow card count.  Blocking a free-kick that is being taken from the wrong place in the opponent's half is worthy of a yellow, but a very late lunge on the halfway line (No 6) did not even merit a cosy chat.  I was also confused by the foul (No 6 again) that should have resulted in a penalty, but was merely waived away.

Finally, was it really Drogba playing at number 11.  Oh no, although he fell dramatically every time he was tackled, he didn't score!

Come on you DARTS!

UP THE DARTS

I've never been a fan of tait, so I can't include him in my team for next year.

Burnsie is surperb, my MOTB today.

I'm just trying to consider what TB might be planning for next season

Could it be:

Burch  Noble   Bradbrook     Harris

           Burns       Rook

dont even think about the midfield and forwards for next season.tb has got to sort out the defence first and from what i have seen this season we may need a right back, left back and two centre halfs !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are being especially hard on gross as he was fine when eliot played wide left midfield as he had some cover in front of him but he is so exposed when noble goes on [ centre midfield] walkabout and often its 2 on 1 !!!!!!!!!!
