This is getting serious now. The only free mid week we now have is next week, and Horsham are already playing Bognor then. Whatsthe betting on the Maidstone game going ahead the week after that and all.  Really think the league willhaveto look at an emergency extension to the season, or end up not playing all the games like they did 7/8 years ago.

Thats not such a bad thing ( apart from the travelling and entrance costs etc) as our away record is better than home, so nowt to worry about there i feel.

Don't know why they don't play more games in midweeks in the earlier part of the season...

If teams around us just keep playing and losing ( and our games keep getting called off), we could win the league without having to kick another ball this season.

From what I've read there is a deadline in place for all fixtures to be completed and the Ryman League chairman is sticking by it.
Let's just hope tonight's postponement is the last

I seem to recall that when leagues have considered extending the season in the past one issue has been the date on which players contracts end, especially at our level where players are part-time professionals.

Nobody guessed the winter would be this bad but I have thought for some time that FA Trophy games up to the first round should be midweek meaning you don't lose 2 or 3 decent October/November Saturdays to Trophy games. Maybe I am being blinkered but that Saturday down at Sittingbourne earlier this season almost made me cry as it just seemed a waste of a Saturday!

I guess that would mean extra time and penalties on the day and no replays up to the First round as well. As a footnote this season is a great reason to bin the League cup which just clogs up already busy fixture schedules!

Dear me, even though this is non-league football, surely the pithces should be better at coping with a bit of rain? The number of postponements we've had is shocking.

The last time we had severe weather like this was in 2000/01, when at the end of the season we had to play:

Saturday (H), Monday (A) to Banbury United, Wednesday (H), Thursday (A) to Witney Town, Saturday (H).

This is nothing compared to that.
