Ron any reason why we cannot just attend the presentation. i would stump up the £5 that it was last time but could not really pay the £35.

I am sure that there would be other people who would do the same!

It was a decision by the DFC Board and Social Committee to only sell tickets for the whole evening so that people would make it a special night as we will (hopefully) have something to celebrate. It was recognised that this might upset some people but if we sell tickets for at least 18 tables then space is very restricted.

I'm pretty sure that for some years that was the way, and its only in recent years that the presentation-only tickets were allowed.

Doesn't affect me personally as I've always gone for the whole evening xshrug

That's me not going, I always went to the presentation only, when held at other venues and when it was first at P.P. so I have no choice now but to opt out, don't fancy the meal and definitely not the disco, it was only to show support for the players at a reasonable price.

with my commercial/sales hat on ONLY , 50/100 fans @£10 each  =£500/£1000 PROFIT [ as no extra on cost ]  + money spent over the bar after cost of sales another £500 ,

In the current financial  climate  , I wonder how many other clubs in the RLP would walk away from this ???????????

On the other side of things, 20 tables with 10 people (judging by last years presentation - which had very little to celebrate in context of this year) on each would have to be reduced to accommodate the presentation-only people (there's only a certain amount of people allowed in the hall for the safety regulations). The more tickets sold through the "full tickets", the more profit. Plus, at what point has there been 50/100 fans at these do's in the past? I've only seen 20, maybe 30 extras come through...

I'm really NOT that bothered and certainly dont intend to waste my time going into long winded discussions about it , my FINAL comment is that successful businesses have the ability to think outside the dots !!!!!!!!

I have organised end of season do's for more years than i can remember and from personal experience what tends to happen if you allow evening only tickets is that people then opt out of the meal and chose to go to the evening only. This obviousy also has an adverse effect and  also reduces revenue, in my experience more than if you stop evening only tickets. Because of this we chose the same route as the club and now have circa 120 sit down every year. We also give people the option of paying in advance in instalments to pay for their tickets where requested. Not sure if this would be possible through the club but might be worth asking if needed.

With reference to the price W.W. it might help the youngsters if they could save throughout the year, but for me and I know it applies to alot of the older diehard Darts fans who have supported the club for many years, the money is not the problem.

The disco holds little or no attraction, the meal will no doubt be good, but nothing exceptional and therefore it's a case of up and away as soon as the presentation is over, so value for money is the consideration and reason for just being prepared to pay a tenner or miss out.

As it is if you take into account the number of players across the squads who will be attending and sitting at tables plus directors, management and some of their other halves, I would think the number of actual fans is comparitively low.

Still good luck to those that do attend and I hope that they will have a very enjoyable evening.

Perhaps you could ask for a presentation only 30 minute ticket  xgiggle xgiggle xgiggle xgiggle

I won't be attending either but based on previous years where tickets for the presentation part only have been sold for between £5 - £7.50 there have been a few supporters that have just walked into the function without paying a penny due to nobody on the doors checking tickets where as others have paid.

I also think it would be a good idea for tickets to be available for just the presentation part of the evening after the meal has finished but can understand why the club doesn't do it. I would guess that more tickets will be sold for the complete evening this year IF the club wins the league and hope that it's an enjoyable night for all those that do attend.

No just as has been done before at P.P. and other venues, those that pay the £35 or whatever get to enjoy the meal and then when it's over the doors are opened to those with tickets at £10 for the presentation and disco. xshrug

That way the youngsters can afford to see the presentation and disco and the older generation can opt out of the latter and everyone is happy. xchurchill
