« on: February 23, 2010, 01:24:57 PM »

Well another postponement on tues (Horsham) so it's off to Borehamwood who are 3rd as I write 12pts behind us but have played 3 games more. With the return fixture (postponed from Nov!!!) due in a couple of weeks (Tues 16th Mar)

Was mildly concerned by the balance of the midfield with Lee coming inside off the left flank on Saturday leaving a massive hole for Ashford to run into. I don't blame Lee one bit as he has a had a couple of impressive games and isnt a left sided player!

To remedy and bearing in mind Tait must nearly be fit to go I would play a midfield of:-

                                      Johnson
                     Noble            Burns           Bradbrook
                                  Harris         Rook

It does pain me to leave Ryno out it really does but for now with our plethora of now fit strikers I reckon we can push Burnsy back into attacking central midfield safe in the knowledge that we will get goals from Rook,Harris,Robbie & Tait and with shed loads of games to come all of the squad will be getting gametime in the closing weeks of this extraordinary season!!

I agree with DHS, play this formation just for its work rate, all these give 100% in the tackle which I feel you need in this and BSS football.

Thing is Duke he never plays in his best position or gets a run of games and still only young!....definitely worth perservering with and certainly worth his place on the evidence of last 2 games surely!?!?!?!!!

I would have Noble on the bench for perhaps bringing on later in the game with his speed as defenders tire, but not to start the game as he is too easily knocked off the ball, runs with his head down so is not always aware of defenders or our forwards and he must correct the powder puff shots.(Two wasted on Saturday)

He's one that could improve but at the moment not sure if he would make the BSS squad and his temperament needs to be cooled.

I'd be willing to bet that this one is called off too. Princes Park seems to be the only place than cope with the slightest bit of rain.

Borehamwood's pitch is generally pretty good - I reckon we'll be on.

The pitch at Boredom Wood is generally excellent, if there is heavy rain, this fixture has a better chance of going ahead than say a game at Horsham YMCA, Arsenal ladies and/or Arsenal reserves play there I believe.

Fingers crossed.

For me the same applies as per Horsham thread..................................

Two wins on the trot, 10pts clear with three games in hand and another opportunity to try and stretch our lead

I will again be joining the choir behind the goal and will be trying to persuade as many others as possible to do the same.
The support at Tonbridge was fantastic and must have helped the players.
IMO we should try and replicate this at all games (especially away) and make us much noise as possible at Horsham.

We are closing in on the title and NOW IS THE TIME to get behind the team and really make that 12th man count.

Very difficult to get any kind of atmosphere going at Borehamwood, certainly behind the goals as from what i remember there is no covered stand at either end and they only have 1 big seated stand on 1 side.

We can only do our best to fully get behind the lads i suppose.

There is covered terrace down the side, the choir could stand there?
