I may be slow but have I missed why Hayes wasn't playing?

The manager did not pick him.

That has got to be some of the bes,t if not, the best FOOTBALL played by The Darts since October  xbow xbow xbow xbow As has been stated elsewhere the first clean sheet in the league since Oct 13th (home to Tonbridge) and Sep 22nd (Away to Sutton) Having seen the Sony's superb highlights a bit worried by the injury to Flans - he signalled to come off immediately  :-( :-( :-( And when Elliot was bundled into the side fencing right in front of us by the 'Wood no6 I thought we had lost him again......

Yesterday would have demonstrated to any neutral why we are top. In the first half such was our assurance that the 3rd placed team on their own ground looked distinctly second best apart from the early shot. Yes, the Ashfords, the Crays and the Borehamwoods have their spells where they have more of the ball - but they dont actually win do they? Over the course of the season I think TB and the team have demonstrated time and again that we can trust them to do what is necessary.

A first clean sheet - is it since Chipstead in the Trophy?- was also nice to see.

As Mr R says, a very professional victory.

Stoats, I thought we'd agreed Boreham Wood are just a bunch of shopkeepers. A thoroughly enjoyable saturday.

I was never happy at school. This one time the headmaster called me into his office. I was terrified. My friend jimmy went to his office and he could'nt sit down for a week, so I'm thinking please, please don't let him find me sexually attractive.

Very fair and complementary match report on the official Boreham Wood FC site.

Flan is described as "hulk like".

This was a good win for us against the team in third. Thought we played some lovely football at times and the goal was a peach. Bradders being back in the side is making a lot of difference. Wasn't impressed with him in the first half of the first game against Horsham back in august but since the second half of that match he has become one of our most impressive and important players. Great to get a clean sheet for the first time since October and have a very solid and professional performance.

I do have a question about Wood's pitch. Even though it was in generally quite good condition, are they allowed to have it so un-flat? The goal (we were attacking) in the second half seemed to be a good 3 inches or so higher than the rest of the box and the goal posts in the first half seemed to be wonky!!!!

Also well done to the burger lady who did lovely food. Top notch.  xtip

That's probably why it was in such good condition, the camber helps it drain. That and the Arsenal groundsman (?)

I thought the same Eagle. Elliot was very lucky to hit the mesh fencing rather than the wooden posts either side or it could have been very serious.

He actually caught the post with his leg - resulting in a dead leg that he had to 'run-off'
He also sprayed us with muddy water from the moat :-)

What a good game of football that was.

Well played Darts, good games for pretty much everyone on Saturday but the names that stood out for me were Burns, Bradbrook and in particular, the absolutely outstanding Danny Harris. I get worn out just watching Danny play, his work-rate is immense but he has quality too. In my opinion you would have to be sleeping during the game (or sleeping with one of the other players) to give anyone but Danny the MOTM vote on Saturday. He was fantastic and stood head and shoulders above everyone on a day when even our worst performer would probably have rated a 7/10.

Excellent day at the office for the Darts. With 16 games to go we currently need 10 wins and a draw although 8 wins out of 16 would almost certainly guarantee the title and in reality 6 or 7 would probably end up being enough. Was any team ever in a stronger position?

Villa, it may have been that Haysie had a knock and was not on the bench. As I wasn't at the game I didn't realise that Hayes was in fact On the bench. I just wondered if I had missed that he was injured in a previous post.
But thanks for clearing that up for me. Not being picked usually means that one isn't playing.
