Wheather burgess was injured or not i still do not see how you can put the leagues leading goal scorer at the time back in defense.

If I recall, Burns was never signed as a striker. Wasn't it because we were short of numbers up front that TB got Burnsie to play there, and he never stopped scoring. Another master stroke from TB.

There have been some great posts from WW, TLD and Trevor B in this thread.

Personally speaking, I am delighted we are so far ahead at the present time.

Personally speaking, I never expected to see the team go through the season undefeated, and even now, four defeats in 27 games  is pretty good going and both our home and away records remain the best in the division.

Personally speaking, I never expect any team to go through a season without having the occasional hitch on the way. It may be disappointing when the team doesn't perform on the day, but believe me, it happens to every team during the season when unexpected results happen. I should know - I watch Tranmere, and very often we reserve our best performances against the better teams, such as Southampton (who had scored 5 in each of their previous two games and undefeated in 8) at the weekend with a 2-1 win against an inform and a strong team.  Compare that to a very sub standard home defeat against a very poor Oldham team when we were even worse!!  In the main, the same players, just  a different peformance. And it happens all the time in football. That makes football the game it is. I'm sure TB is hurting after that game, and I'm sure the players are too. Equally,  I am sure the players will be making every amend on Tuesday evening. Lower teams are well able to raise their level of performance for a game. Doing it over 42 games is a something different.

Personally speaking, I have always said, it's over 42 games that the season is decided - and whichever team is at the top come those 42 games, deserve to be champions, whatever slip ups have occurred during the season.

Personally speaking, I will never boo or abuse a player, well at least, not one of our own!! (Opposition players yes, if their actions deserve it). Neither will I leave a game early either, because there is always the possiblity of a turnaround in any game in Dover time, which often seems to extend to 6, 7 and 8 minutes of added time nowadays.

Fair play to Billericay if they have done their homework and sussed out how to play against us. After all, it was a double against us, and I had an eerie feeling something like this may happen in theis match. As somebody else has stated, last season it was Harrow. Did anybody else see the Swindon (play off favourites) result yesterday, 0-4 down at home to mid table Bristol Rovers. It ain't just us, and I'm sure we will have enough in the tank to see us through.

Looks like Flanners could be in for a hefty fine from TB too, admitting in print that he tunes into PureDFC web indeed.   I'll have to go along with WW with another half pint. Keep driving the lads Adam and all will come right in the end.

I am not a happy clapper, but for heavens sake ,we are 8 points clear and several games in hand ,we are having a great season, yes it was not a great perfomance against Ricay but that is football .I left dissapointed but I have never booed my team and i never will.
So lets all get down to the Maidstone game and get behind TB and the Lads,we are in this together and we will win this league together,as for the moaners at home games, they are not going to stop their idiotic babble but it is up to us  real fans to help get the lads back on track,I will be at Ashford and I will be right behind my team and even if things are going wrong I WON'T be booing.COYDsss

I for one cannot understand why any sane supporter would boo their team off the pitch...even after being beaten by a team 17 places below them. We are all prone to having an off day    It serves NO PURPOSE whatsoever;.

After careful consideration I have voted for Scott McKinnon as my man of the match. He showed a lightning turn of pace with his board. Had the “bucket “ been available then it might have just got the nod. Besides this is just a taster of what we should expect on a regular basis next season if we go up.

A couple of observations...

It was clear from the early stages of yesterdays game that our no width formation was not going to work. Why did TB leave it so late before changing ?

Also, there must have been something wrong with Hayes's aftershave as I can't why his colleagues persisted on ignoring him, choosing instead to send another misplaced pass done the middle.

Finally, how does White makes the team sheet ? Another carthorse performance. North Kent Sunday League is about his level.

Yeah, he only made the goal (or scored it if Burns didn't get the touch?) and had our only other shot on target with a cracking 20 Yd volley.  Terrible.

Oh dear....A cross & a hit 'n' hope shot. Major contribution ? I guess you could not see he was stationary for most of the game. Beales was my close 2nd for Eeyore of the week.

other than what tld has pointed out watch how he trapped the ball as it descended before beating the defender and crossing.he also probably has the least misplaced passes in the team.try playing in front of a back four who insist on trying to hit pigeons throughout the game.i think we are owed an apology from saturdays back four.

Well, that was a tad disappointing but lets put it behind us, learn from our mistakes and pick ourselves up for the title run-in. Hopefully this result will just serve as a reminder to the players to not get complacent.

I would like to say well done to the young'uns behind the goal who kept the noise up throughout the game and were a joy to listen to. They didn't stop singing even when we were 4 down.

However, i just wanna point out that, apart from the Watts, i noticed some idiots behind the goal who couldn't say a nice word about the team. Yes we were poor but some of your comments are not gonna help. If, as you say, you'd "rather be at home than watching this sh**" then go home, nobody else wants to listen to your insults.

Absolutely agree Fist, As I was next to you, I copuld here the negative comments as well. How that is supposed to help the team, ill never know. Mind you, probably the same idiots that booed after the game.

Yes we were poor, yes I am dissapointed but if you call yourself a supporter, the clue is the name supporter.

I believe an earlier comment someone said that 'Riccy are better than their league position suggests' and after Saturday, I agree.

My only thoughts on the team selection Saturday is, I would not have started with Rook or would have taken him off a lot earlier. I am sure once he gets his confidence he will be banging them in but on Saturday, I felt he looked lost and would rather pass the ball sidewards than shoot. This is, as I say, a confidence issue but we needed goals Saturday. I also would have brought Ryno and Noble on earlier but again, just my own opinion.

Onwards and upwards, lets hope we dont see any more scorelines like this for the rest of the season!!

TLD, if Burnsy hadnt got a touch on the ball then the goal wouldve gone to Billy Burgess who flicked the ball on with his head from Whites great cross.
