Just a thought. I used to play those football manager games you get on the PC or playstation, and I was more than happy to take a small team up from non-league to the heady heights (and changing the teams name to Dartford on the way). However, then Maidstone elbowed their way in. They DID get up into league football, selling their ground and using the profits to finance a middling tier four side. This financial ineptitude was duly rewarded by them going into oblivion and dragging us down with them. Suddenly, the football manager game dream of surging into league football, and rising up through the leagues to knock ManU off their perch seemed less appealing (while still being highly unlikely). Now we are bubbling our way up. Does anyone think maybe we should be happy to stick to non league football and be small but perfectly formed, or does anyone out there still dream the big dream of a tier three kick off in august year 2??? against Grimsby?
Good point. I personally would not like to see the Darts in a few years time struggling for points, money and support. I personally think these are great times for Dartford fc but hell, If we beat Man Utd 5-0 in the premiership in a few years I wont be moaning.

Yes you will be moaning about the prices of tickets and having to sit down for 90 minutes and the wages our players are on.  xwise

Just back ...solid performance..Maidstone never really troubled us and to be honest can't remember Andy having a save to make at all.

Goal came  from a great Ryno cross well finished by Burnsy (bit worrying to see him limping off towards the end tho)

Wasn't sure when we heard the line-up who was going to play at the back but Bradbrook did excellently filling it at centre half.  Ryno was back to somewhere near his old self and Danny Dafter put in a great shift in the midfield and for me just edged  MOM (closely followed by Bradbrook and White).

One step closer our goal, saturdays performance forgotten ..........and on to Tooting  xbop xbop xbop xbop

^^^ echo bk3, great feeling during / after tonight's game - not often a team coasts a 1-0 victory, but Dartford certainly did that tonight. Well oiled machine with BB and Ryno working the right flank well and some lovely play by Daffy, White and Burns. One of the best goals of the season to boot.

1-0 will do nicely and pretty comfortable evening to be honest...thought the Stones would have a right go but we didnt allow them to! Not the greatest of games but a really solid display all round

Very bleak place Ashford and pitch wasnt easy so getting that first goal was always going to be key as chasing the game would have been very difficult indeed!

Everyone for me 7/10 at least with Danny Harris edging motm for me for his unbelievable work rate with 4 or 5 others just behind him. Enjoyed seeing Taity again and showed some nice touches as we closed out the game.

Hope Burnsy is ok and would have loved to have watched Mr Haworth 10 years ago because he just doesnt stop running and closing down must be a nightmare to play against.

Next stop Tooting and what a week next week will be hope the lads get their rest in!!!

Just back in from the game  :-D big smiles all round  :-D and nothing like beating Maidstone ( sorry but old habits eh )

Well done The Darts ! and after Saturday just what we needed ! Normal service has been resumed  :-)

A good all round team effort this evening and thought us quite solid in defence although Stones did not offer too much, both full backs did well and good to see Gross get forward a bit more than of recent weeks, also may I say thought young James White gave a decent performance this evening in midfield, well done.
Usual candidates Danny Harris, Lee Burns did well and young Ryan Hayes had a good evening, I thought he was more dangerous in the 1st half than the 2nd probably tired a bit and the pitch was an absolute shocker which didn't help !

However, 3pts away from home is what we came to get and the lads timely delivered we can't ask for anymore than that after such a disappointing result last Saturday.
Up the Darts !
