I just want 11 players out there who will have the 'over my dead body' attitude!

Also a side that has balance!

kebabus i think from what i see that the players do have the attitude you desire but for whatever reason lately they have not been very good.i thinks its more a case of not playing well rather than not putting the effort in.

the key to it is as you have said "balance" i realy dont think they understand the systems they are asked to play sometimes and playing people out of their positions creates imbalance and uncertainty.

i would like to turn up one day and see a goalkeeper, two fullbacks ,two centre backs, two wingers ,two central midfielders and two forwards,i am sure this is what i was watching up to about november.

The players seem to be playing with the weight of the world on their shoulders and have forgotten how to enjoy the game. With TB opting to rotate the squad I’m sure this has caused the fear factor to come in to play within the squad as players are trying their best to keep their places for next season. If you can’t enjoy your football when you are 10 points clear when will you enjoy the game? Come on Darts please play without fear and play with a smile on your face.

I’m not normally into predictions but I think we are going to win 3-1 with a crowd of 980.

Just go at them.

Come out of the dressing room and as soon as the whistle blows do what you did at the start of the season.

Don't let them settle, don't let them play their game, put them on the back foot from the kick-off and just bloody well go for it!

You do that and the crowd will rise to the occassion.

And if they score a goal just get back up the other end and cancel theirs out ASAP.

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR! Boreham Wood on the other hand........................................

Does that mean that “Team Custard” are in attendance for this one?

We are in desparate need of a Flanagan recovery for tomorrow. If these 4 games in a week don't go well and Sutton capitilise then pressure could start building which is what we don't want. I'll be going to the game anyway and hopefully we can make some noise and get behind the team!!!!

Thanks Ginger,

To be honest I know no other way of playing or competing in any sport.

Be it Badminton, Running, Golf, or dare I say it Keper Wars, The only way I know how to compete is to go for the win. Otherwise I don't see much point in entering.

I never wanted to just win. I wanted to win by making the other guy suffer, by embarressing him, making my opponent wish they'd never bothered turning up, basically by grinding them down. I never want to beat someone I want to crush them. I know it sounds a bit melodramatic but personally, I never saw the point in competing to come second. Winning is everything. It still is.

The great Golfer Ben Hogan used to say of his opponents "Out think them, out play them, annhialate them".

I like that attitude and to be honest that's what I like to see from the players. Go out there tonight, hammer them and enjoy it.

Let's win this league and win it well.

Agreed and the best form of defence is to attack, lets hope the boys are really up for it.

to go for the jugular is not always the best method custard.i am not talking dfc here just sport generally.sometimes your opponent is better than you in all physical and abilty respects and you have a stark choice, you either lose but try to minimise the damage or you play a clever game by containing and hope for a bit of luck where you can pick off your oponent.
as we rise up the league ladder we will have to get used to playing  like this sometimes as the opposition gets better.

I tended to go for something lower than the jugular

I get your point, I was merely pointing out my own slant on competition. If I was going to lose I did so fighting and not with a whimper.

Obviously I want the Darts to win every game and the better the win the more I like it, and am happy to concede that Tony knows far more about how to get the best from this team than I.

We are however the best team by far in this league, i just want the guys to realise this and play accordingly.
