DARTFORD VRS BOREHAMWOOD TUESDAY 16TH MARCH 2010
« on: March 13, 2010, 09:50:42 PM »

Well I started the Maidstone thread after we were given a bit of a pasting last week so may as well copy and paste....

Will take any win hoping Flan and Burnsy are with us

Still top (sometimes forget how hard it can be to close out a league when you have been top for so long 7 months and counting) and still comforably in our hands!!!

Simply c'mon you Darts!!!

The first of four games in eight days. It's so important to get a confidence boost from this game.
Boreham Wood (H).....Tuesday
Horsham (A).....Thursday
Maidstone (H).....Saturday
Margate (H).....Tuesday

By next Tuesday we'll have a much better idea of how difficult / easy it's going to be to close out this title. 12 pts is NOT impossible, 8-11 would be very acceptable. 6 or 7 just keeps us on track, anything less is squeaky bum time. What a pity that one of these games couldn't have been played last week.

At the Tooting game on Sat and obviously dissapointed like every  other Darts supporter. Let's face it, we're still top and have some breathing space as well. No team could be expected to keep up the blistering pace we set at the start of the season, so we are always going to have spells like this. Saturdays history now and we must all do our best to lift the lads on Tuesdat eve.
Boreham Wood's going to be tough and our home form has not  been our strongest point this season but let's give them the support they deserve and help carry them across the finishing line!
Come on you Darts, let's finish this!
Up the Darts!

Make no mistake about it we need a positive result from this one and for me this game can not come quick enough so it can erase the memory of yesterday.

Agree 100%, all that matters now is picking up as many points as possible as quickly as possible to win this league.
There's nothing to be gained at this stage of the season in moaning or having a go so for me 100% backing until the end of the season.
Let's make sure we continue to play our part and give total support to TB and the lads.

As an added incentive I believe the Free? Draw for the 2 Virgin Atlantic Plane tickets will be made at this match  xbow xbow xbow So you have to be there to be in the draw. Bring a friend increase your chances of winning AND increase the home support after saturdays minor setback.
Ignore this I was wwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrr............gggggg Its the Stones game next saturday.

Prior to Saturday's game we needed 8 wins and a draw (from 14 games) to absolutely guarantee the title.
Now we need just the 8 wins (from 13 games) to guarantee the title.

Apparently, despite the disappointment, we still made a little bit of progress.

Add this to the fact that we have a 10 point lead at the top, most goals scored, least goals conceded, biggest fan base, best stadium and virtually the same squad that went 15 games unbeaten earlier in the season, there are still a few reasons for optimism.

I just hope that our players come out tomorrow with all guns blazing and really go for the jugular like they did so often earlier in the season. We have an awesome team that are more than capable of blowing our opponents away ... they just need to believe it as much as I do. Come on lads, have the confidence to get in their faces and make Princes Park a living nightmare for the visitors, whoever they happen to be. All this nonsense about it being harder to play at home is psycho-babble, clap-trap and will only be true if you choose to believe it. The league table clearly shows you are, by a country mile, the best team in the division so get out there tomorrow night and show everybody just how good you REALLY are!

Sounds easy but we need to eradicate the individual errors and take our chances when they come along.

Maybe a tough evening bearing in mind what has happened Saturday so important that the crowd dont come along expecting an easy win and get on the players backs if the score is 0-0 for a while or heaven forbid 0-1!!

Any win will do at this stage of the season!!!

I do hope I don't miss this one: the lad's lolling round the house with a streaming cold and his own box of Kleenex and the missus is laid up in bed with what looks like the flu....
