Dartford v Margate, Tuesday 23 March
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:30:06 PM »

Any chance these comments from the Margate manager can be pinned up in our changing before they visit on Tuesday?

MARGATE boss Iain O’Connell said he was pleased with the application of his side - particularly at the back - as they recorded a creditable 1-1 draw against Sutton United in midweek.

“I did my homework on them,” the Essex based O’Connell told www.margate-fc.com.  “I spoke to about four different managers and thy all said to me, they’re the best team in the league.

Another 3pts would be nice in our romp to the title.  How many points are the best team in the league behind us? xbop

I see that Tommy Osbourne has signed for Margate.

How many clubs is that this season? Such a contrast to his lengthy spells at both Hastings and Dartford.

Margate are fighting for their lives ,we will need to show respect but if we play to our potential we should have enough to get a result,1-0 will do for me.

Margate are unbeaten in their last four games with some pretty good results so we will need to continue our recent good form, if we do i'm confident the lads will get another victory.

It would be nice at the end of the game if their manager had his own opinion of who is the beat team in the league, i have a feeling he might find out.

The games can't come quick enough now so really looing forward to this one.

It would be nice if we could put in a performance against Margate, similar to the one at Hartsdown Park back in August

Now I know I am being greedy but another 4-0 stomping would be most welcome.

Saying that I would settle for 1-0 Darts and another 3 points.

As the old saying goes ...

It's better to be top of the league and 14 points in front of the "best team in the league" than to be the best team in the league in the eyes of a manager whose team are bottom of the league.

I didn't actually realise until I looked at the league table at the weekend that Margate are bottom. We're top, so that's another 3-3 home draw, then xwhis

I have just read with some interest the preview of the match on the official Margate website. Apparently Lee Burns and Lee Noble will be unavailable because of three- and one-match suspensions. Have I missed something? Burns is also said to be the top scorer with 15 goals.

Is it the original preview? They were due to be suspended when the first match was played

Both Lee's suspensions started on 9.1.2010. The Margate game was originally on 9.1.2010, but was postponed.

I think you are right-they have simply re-used the original preview without updating it.
