Dartford v Hastings Utd Sat 27 Mar 2010
« on: March 24, 2010, 10:27:09 PM »

I can't see a new thread for this, so I'll start it:

Dartford v Hastings Utd Sat 27 Mar 2010
Match Officials: J P Magill, A P Snell & C Newman

I would also like to add that our fixture board says "Hasting Utd". It was like this at lunchtime, I was going to say something but forgot, until I walked past it this evening.

After the last 10 or so days the players have had i wouldn't be to surprised if TB lets them off training tomorrow night and lets them completely rest ready for Saturday.

Maybe these extracts from Sutton will help spur us on

Quote
Their next two games are at home to Hastings and away to Hendon. If they lose both of them then the challenge is really on.

Quote
If we keep picking up points, say 13-15 from next five we can scare the life out of them and they could blow up, we've got to keep going til the end and you just never know

Quote
If K's or us are 3 points behind them with 4 games to go i think they blow it.

COYD lets show them why we are top of the league and break their spirit once and for all

Assuming they win all their games which is a massive ask i am confident we will get enough points to be well clear come the end of the season.

It's good to see little Sutton having some fun on their website. Fair play to them as I've always had a passing interest in the minor clubs and grass roots football. They are playing so well at the moment that their great run has hauled an astonishing 2 points more than our wobbly patch. If they keep that up, they could surprise themselves and get into the play-offs and a crack against one of the bigger clubs like Aveley.

The quotes from Sutton are understandable - we'd be saying exactly the same if the roles were reversed. Keep the faith as some wise fellow once said (I think it was Welsh Waffler or Jon Bon Jovi or someone like that). We just have to play out our own season and put the title beyond everyone else. The Hastings boys owe us payback for our early season romp down at Pilot Field in the lovely sunshine, let's not give them anything though - three more points and all this silly talk of catch up will probably go away. I'd like to see Tait and Haworth up top, Ryno and Harris wide with maybe Dafter and White central. Back four / GK as you were. That side wins for me  xnod

IF ALL FIT TO PLAY YOU HAVE LEFT OUT A COUPLE OF OUR MOST CONSISTENT PLAYERS WHO I FEEL MOST WOULD PICK TO START.

BUT I'D STILL "KEEP THE FAITH" WHOEVER PLAYED.

I'd assumed Burns would be rested as he looked to be struggling when leaving the field on Tuesday. If you were also alluding to Bradders, fair point - he could play left, moving DH inside - but again didn't have a great game vs. Margate so who knows.

Please play Noble and we will win - he is our most talented and creative player apart from Ryno.
Also bring back Birchell

Could be an interesting selection from TB tomorrow.

How fit is Burns at the moment looks about 75% at best (mind you what a 75% that is!) and Johnson will he have recovered from last week to be in contention!!?

Fast start required and I feel lately we have been guilty of being a bit 'too nice' especially at home so lets get into their faces a bit and not give them an easy ride at PP!
