Shame about Sean Ray, a couple of years ago he'd have had every ball into the area.

Instead of only 99%!

As for the lads, apart from shaky defending,( dare I put that with WW around)

:police: :police: :police: :police: :police: :police: :police: :police:

As everybody has said a great game with both teams playing well...............
So was it a case of "shaky defending" as you put it or good attacking??

Whatever, yesterday was such an enjoyable game and a great fantastic performance from the lads i am happy for you to have a semi negative opinion  xnod xnod xnod xnod

Cracking entertainment, big crowd, 4 goals, a win and 3 points. Not a bad day at the office.

I think that was one of them defining moment games, a bit like the 95th minute penalty winner against Waltham Abbey at Princes Park a couple of seasons ago. Sometimes you just know that its going to happen because destiny has already decided the outcome.

Victory is inevitable, the championship is ours, there's no point trying to fight it.

Excellant exciting game for both sets of fans and for the neutral, full credit to both teams. A real gutsy performance from the lads and full credit for keep going right till the end. Certainly a well deserved 3pts. Quite a few who deserve motm but ryno gets my vote for some superb pinpoint crosses and being involved with all 4 goals plus some excellant defensive work. The new guy Michael Shinn looks good with some nice touches. I also liked the look of Hastings No6 he worked hard all game, looked very comfy on the ball, had some nice touches and a bit of pace to boot. On to tomorrow and Hendon fingers crossed for 3pts and a step closer the title. WELL DONE ALL, COYDS.

Harry Pell.

I agree. He was very impressive. Had lots of ability and very quick feet for such a tall guy. I thought he was the stand-out player in the Hastings team this year.

Can somebody clarify who the opening goal was officially given to please? Where we were it looked like Ryno's corner hit the post then went in off the keeper's legs.

The first goal seemed to go in off the goalkeeper's posterior finally! I assume it was credited to Ryan Hayes.

Well, what a game in which Hastings played a full part. I too thought Harry Pell was good especially the way he brought the ball out of defence. That old dog Ade Olorunda caused us problems and Sean Ray played well against us yet again in the same way that Peter Hawkins of Maidstone always seems to.

Having said that I thought we deserved to win because Hastings were hanging on in the last 10 minutes. We hit the bar, the post and had efforts cleared off the line. Their defending was generally heroic apart from set pieces which looked a real Achilles heel for them. Our players were top notch and I liked the way we kept getting goals not long after Hastings scored which may have dispirited them ( Hastings that is). At 2-3 the "Dartford wobble" merchants were probably getting ready again but our sheer determination got us through. The referee did well too - you knew where you stood with him.

I like the message that result sends out to the rest of them. Hell, a few more of those and some people might think we are the best team in the league!

Interesting to see on the Hastings site that both Harry Pell & Liam Bellemy had both been released from Charlton with neither being offered pro contracts and neither seem to be on contracts at Hastings.

Their fans are hoping they can keep hold of both players at the end of the season ready for next season. Pell certainly looked a good player and stood out amongst the United players and it was Liam Bellemy who scored Hastings 2nd goal with the free header.
