Mine had some odd, very minor, 10p's etc taken from it.

I am with Tesco CC and they rang me before I knew about it. I thought kids might have purchased something moody, but it was as everybody described above.

I have nowt but praise for Tesco CC. Whenever a strange transaction registers on my account, or a transaction takes place from a strange location they are on the moby like a shot. I was buying wine in France once, and my card was refused in the shop. Next second, call from Tesco, are you in France / are you Mr Price etc...ok we'll authorise payment. Brilliant.

I guess its fairly simple with me though, if some sap trys to buy Moet on my card when the regular tipple is nothing less than Bollinger then alarm bells ring.

I had another card cloned in Sardinia once. Tesco again, and I had a number of largish bills at a local bar etc. All refunded when I proved innocence etc. The eyeties also tried to buy £4000 of carpet / bathroom tiles etc. Card refused. However, the shops know its going on cos they would still keep the money!

And the blighters want to get rid of cash. Mr Throttler, at 108 and still going strong, you must remember cash!

I just don't use cards in petrol stations. I just carry a £10 note with me and pay cash.
Fraud is rife in these places.

Agreed..... I never use cards at garages since the wife had her card cloned at the BP opposite the ground...if i do go there now I use the cashpoint before filling up and pay cash

The wife just got a phone call from Barclays Fraud office to say her card has been cloned! She used the petrol station a week ago Saturday. Coincidence?

Hi guys. I work in the industry. Please make sure you report this stuff to the police as they will gather the evidence and get the crooks shut down. Also if anyone has been a victim of scams and swindles and needs some advice type Money Made Clear into google and they have a link on common scams. Would paste the link but posting from my phone.

Hope this helps as a short cut.

http://www.moneymadeclear.org.uk/

Just caught up with this thread, and took my attention because when I used to drive down for matches (I now come by train), I tended to fill up at this station, but not been cloned.

However, my CC was cloned 10 years back when I was visiting my lad when he lived for a short time in Wembley. It was cloned at that time at a photographic franchise within the nearby Sainsbury store when I had two £25 debits on my card for Vodaphone top ups when I wasn't a Vodaphone customer. I had to have my card cancelled and a new card issued by Natwest. Back in those days, it was me who identified the fraud when receiving my statement.

Not a pleasant experience being caught out, hence more than happy to step in and establish the link for smitman.

Also glad I am with hsbc and tesco too, as they seem to be proactive from the above postings.

Can't be co-incidence  that so many posters have been caught out over the road. So hope you all  get on and report as suggested by smitman

I too have become a "victim". Tuesday evening I got an automated message from Barclaycard telling me to ring 08453512259. Slightly dubious, I did a search on google & found http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08453512259

I rang their fraud dept to find that 5 * £1 transactions were taken using my CC over the past few days. My statement arrived a few days earlier, so I couldn't see on that. They were all from the Apple Store. Not me guv, I don't own anything Apple related. No iPhone, no iPad, no Granny Smiths. It is odd though that the last time I used the card was recently at an online computer store that I have been using for the past 9 years with no problems, but as was pointed out to me by someone, it's not the first time it has happened with that company (was supplied forum link). I guess I have been lucky with them. It's a shame really. Then again, I have no proof it was them. I am so glad Barclaycard spotted this early, else I could have been fleeced for lots more without a clue until I saw my next statement.

Doesn't this stuff just make you sick? Pure, inexcusable cowardice.
