Dartford v Aveley 17th April 2010
« on: April 14, 2010, 10:09:04 AM »

And so to the last home game (thread) of the season where the Ryman Premier League Champions will receive their trophy in front of what we hope will be a bumper crowd. I'm sure many of you are already practising your advertising hoarding vaulting techniques however I would like to offer an open invitation (as has become customary over the last few years) to any fans wishing to show their appreciation of the mighty guardian of the DFC onion bag, Mr Andrew Young. Please feel free to join me at the opposite end to cheer on Andy for the 1st half of Saturday's game. It must get pretty lonely for him sometimes having only a sprinkling of away or, indeed, home fans abusing him while away in the distance he can see the Darts Choir having all the fun. This is just our way of showing him that his contribution to the season hasn't gone unnoticed which I'm sure he would appreciate. Hope to see some of you there.

Mr Young, we salute you  xtip

We did this last time with Tony Kessell at the end of the season where the choir kept ends in the second half in order to support Kessey and thank him for his efforts over the season. I'd be willing to again this season for Andy.

This fixture could turn out to be some game, Aveley are hitting a good run. Plenty of goals hopefully, lets hope Andy doesn't get a back ache, you all might want to flee back up the other end.
Can't wait for 3-o-clock.

One of the reasons I'm going to stand behind the goal is the fact that players Like Andy Young and Adam Gross and John Beales etc don't get enough credit, as mentioned in this thread, but also we forget the job that they do. For me, the unsung heroes of this season.

Might I suggest behind the goal for the first half, and normal for the second?

that way you will see all the goals  xgiggle

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

This crazy Iceland ashcloud has seriously put my flight from Cyprus in doubt and I may not be back in time for Aveley.

Just when I thought my mood could get no worse after last night, now I'm gonna miss the trophy presentation.
