Disappointed not to win, but hey - who cares. 4 goals away from 100 league goals, top by 17 points - champions.
To right Gary not loseing was thing we did not shame ourselves on a big day and all credit to the lads they are still up for every game it was only a fluke deflection from a very well taken free kick that probably made the difference .Quite happy to settle for our day at kingstonian .Not worried about a draw at bognor but a win would be brilliant.

Me being an idiot completely forget about the bars and function rooms, to meet the players and stuff, and I just went home. Mind you, my feet killed like mad.

Kind of summed up our home form. A game we should have won but didnt take our chances when they came along and we paid with 2 dropped points.....

However what a great day. great weather, good entertaining match where Aveley more than played their part and well done to all the club who after getting it so wrong 2 years ago got it SO RIGHT this time around!!!

It had to be a bit of an anti climax after Kingstonians and typically we perhaps didn't perform as well as we can do and it was at home in front of a crowd of over 2,000.

Never mind we didn't lose and had we taken our chances we would have had at least a couple more goals.

Presentation at the end was well handled by all concerned management and fans and it was good to see the trophy and medals handed over above the tunnel.

As the bar was packed The Duke The 5th and myself followed Spike & Co down to the Bistro Bar (Ex Club Shop) where I saw it for the first time and I have to say that it has been re-vamped and decorated out very nicely and I think it will come into it's own during the summer, especially with the tables and chairs outside as well.

I think others will use it as well as golfers as an alternative watering hole lunch times.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip down from Merseyside. Stayed at my brother in law and sister in laws in Uxbridge, travelled over with him on the Saturday and in the bar for 12:30. Got ourselves a bit of a sun tan, a fair and just reward following my last visit down when the game at Harrow was postponed just 30 minutes before kick off  xno

Just great to be a part of the celebrations seeing us return back up to the level we were when Watling Street was alive and kicking and also brilliant to have been one of those 250 present at the Kings Lynn game back in 2004 when it was first announced the Darts would be returning to the borough, being at the homecoming, being at Edgeware and finally the presentation of the trophy after the match now. However, I'm sure the real place for atmosphere would really have been the previous weekend at Kingstonian when we really claimed the championship in such style, and which sadly, I couldn't attend.

Thanks for your welcome DJjohn earlier in this thread, and sorry I didn't catch up with you. Good to meet with JohnJ in the bar too.

Truly a superb afternoon and again, congratulations and thanks to everybody involved with DFC for all the effort that has been put in to putting us back towards where we should be. 4 goals in 3 games to make it 100 for the league season would be the icing on the cake.

To those travelling to Bognor, enjoy your weekend.

Pete...was a pleasure to meet u ......glad  you enjoyed your day  ....was good to finally put a face to your posts.

I know all Darts new and old fans have enjoyed the success of the last few seasons, but it must be especially rewarding for those long standing fans that  had to endure the heartbreak of nearly seeing their  club disappear. xtip xtip
