Currently enjoying Brick, in various sittings. Taped off film 4 last month.
Excellently filmed, with  very good acting performances from some young stars.
shame I can't get to watch it in one sitting

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Films I've watched recently: There Will Be Blood (Day-Lewis was excellent - plot seemed to drag and 2 and a half hours? No thanks), Ronin (a lot more enjoyable than I thought it'd be) and Gran Torino (brilliant)

Briefcases in films are the biggest McGuffins out there. Case in point (haha, I did the case joke): Pulp Fiction

very sad indeed.
Ronin is quality, and Kick ass has become one of my favs, that girl is just awsome, the star of the film.

Hopper's performance in apocalypse now was immense. I shall watch that and Easy Rider in tribute,  xbow

Watched an Irish film last night called Garage. A drama that was very thought provoking if not a little bit slow paced. Would recommend it but only if you have a good attention span as its all narrative and suggestion rather than action.

Watched Gran Torino last night and just loved it.If it is true that will be Clint Eastwood's last appearance in front of the camera then what a great way to sign off. A true legend.
Also it was sad to hear about the demise of Dennis Hopper. a legend but in a different way.The story goes that on one film set in 1971 he consumed in one day 2 litres of Rum,24 cans of beer and his bodyweight in Cocaine and still continued to film. They don't make them like that any more.

Have just watched a film called 'Assembly' Chinese hit film based on Speilbergs Private Ryan only in North West Nationalist wars in China, going on to the Korean war. Special affects a little more bloody than Private Ryan with the story going onto the one remaining officer trying to prove his men died as hero's and fighting for a memorial for them, instead of being classed as cowards and deserting the cause.
Excellent film, especially the part where one North Korean soldier standing on a land mine and the Yanks turn up. Of course, seen one Korean you've seen them all, except these Koreans are Chinese, and the yanks don't know the difference and clear off leaving the enemy to carry on trying to get out of the land mine situ. You got to see it..
Worth a look.
