It is a good one KP and if I'm not mistaken is one of the others you're looking at called Days of Glory, about how the African nations sent an army to fight for France the 'mother nation'. That looks quite a tasty one too.

Channel hoping late night stumbled upon 'The Beast' (also known as 'The Beast of War') on ITVl 4....1988 film about a Russian tank that gets separated from their patrol after a viscous attack on an Afghan village, and is then relentlessly pursued  by the local mujahed.

Totally engaging film and having checked it out on the web, seems that it's got quite a following, despite not being a success at the box office.

Really worth checking out (in my opinion)

Have yet to see a bad Eastwood directed movie!!

Have to agree. Watched Absolute Power again the other night. Its still a good film but not a touch on the book.

Going to watch 9th Company again later tonight. For those of you who don't know much about it, its a Russian war film based on a true story which happened during the Afgan war of the 80's. Its a brilliant film and a must for eveyone who likes a good war film.

Out of the 3, Assembly, Days of Glory and 9th company my personal favourite is Assembly.

Saw Death at a Funeral last night at cinema it is well worth a watch with some great slapstick moments.

My last two Lovefilm rentals, Zombieland and Frost/Nixon were both OK as well. Next up 500 Days of Summer to keep the wife happy. She is getting fed up with my choices.

Watched "Invictus" over the weekend......Another great Eastwood drirected movie. Morgan Freenman's a dead ringer for Mandala. If though the outcome of the rugby has been well documented the unlaying political and social matter, were address very well!!
I don;t care if I ever see Clint Eastwood act again all the time he continues to direct and produce such teriffic movies!!

Saw The Hurt Locker the other night. Very good war film, but with a difference.

Have to agree about 9th Company and Days of Glory but have not yet seen Assembly, will have to check that one out.

Saints and Soldiers is quite a good war film. Again a little bit different from the usual but it's based on the true story of the Malmedy massacre. Worth a look.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Watched Green Zone with Maaaat Daaaamon over the weekend. Strange film, never really got going. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as i was expecting.

City of God - A brazillian sub titled film about gangs in a small 'slum' called the city of god. Very very good film and portrays life in these slums very well. Quite pointent as the 'gangsters' get younger as the film goes on.

Also watched the latest installment in the Terminator franchise.... what a load of sh*t, made no sense and a pretty pointless storyline in all.

Watched Mike Bassett: England Manager again last night (to help get in the mood for tomorrows game). I love that film.

I think at least one of the scenes was filmed in Dartford. I remember the Council getting a request for permission to film in the town.
