The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - not bad film but I read the book first so was dissapointed. If you intend to read the book, don't watch the film first, in fact, don't watch the film at all and stick with the book!

I'm going to get the Toy Story set at some point - I just can't justify paying £10 each for the dvd's when I can probably get them at a bootsale or in a sale for about £3 each at some point.

And, boy, Conay makes me feel old. I remember seeing Toy Story 1 in school on VHS in about 1996.

You can guarantee there'll be a box set of all 3 when the third film comes out on DVD/Bluray so it's probably best waiting for that.

I onkly have the first 2 on VHS as well so I need to watch them again!

Have just sat and watched 'Passchendaele'. Atmospheric battle scenes, rather gory, but also a good story line. Written, produced and starring Paul Gross. I have an interest in the First World War, and also found to have a Great Uncle who died at Ypres, during the first battle of Passcendaele. Have traveled out there to successfully find his grave,as many soldiers were never found and have only a monument.
Give it a whirl, why do we always like the battle scenes? And there is a moment in the film where even it made the actors and production crew very squeamish indeed. The soldier and the rat.
Thoroughly recommend it

I thought it was a great film. indeed a very good storyline. I too have been to Ypres, seeing the Menin gate was a sobering experience.

Nick, after a long day trudging the battle fields, Menin Gate had my wife in tears. I stood in front of my Great Uncles grave ( Perth China Wall Cemetery ) and had a lump in my throat. An experience. Recommend it to anyone, even if you have no reason  to go there.

Ozy, I know what you are saying. All those names on the walls, anyone who goes will find it humbling..
I visited the trenches and also the 'In flanders Museum' which I thought although quite graphic was well worth a visit.
As soon as my kids are old enough I'll take them there. Their sacrifice has not been forgotten.

Have to agree, the film is not a patch on the book. The book was one of the best thrillers I have read in a long time. Well recommended.

I agree but hope they keep it loyal to the TV show by not having anyone actually get hit by the hail of bullets!!!

Don't worry, I'm sure the film makers will stay loyal to the TV show by making the film just as $h1t as the original  xshake

I quite enjoyed the TV show in a "not really fussed" sort of way. I've heard the film is good enough if you want to go somewhere and switch your brain off. I'd much rather people went to see Inception again and gave that the takings it deserves xtip

Sometimes that's all you want from a film. Sit back, watch some action, see things get blown up and walk out the cinema having been thoroughly entertained. To be honest, after a hard days work (?!!), it's all i want!  xnod

But then that is the beauty of cinema; there is always something for someone on at any time.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World looks like one to see too, I know nothing about the comic book but it's from Egar Wright who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz so it's already a must see for me just because of that.
