Tried watching "There Will Be Blood" on BBC2 last night - but the small screen didn't do it justice, so I switched back to Leeds vs Derby County on BBC1 after half an hour.....
Absolutely agree, Silverado. Fantastic film which really requires the full big screen treatment to extract maximum enjoyment from it.

The less said about Leeds v Derby the better.  xshake

I watched Sex and Drugs and Rock n' Roll last night. The story of Ian Dury. I thought it was a great film. The bloke who played him was very good, and there were a few familiar faces starring (be it briefly). Well worth a watch if you liked his music.

Was it not Gollum (Andy Serkis) that played him?

That's him! (...now I know where I've seen him before!) Thanks for pointing that out.

He was also King Kong in the new remake. I think he's also going to be in the Tintin film as Captain Haddock if my memory serves.

Yes I believe you're right in that Tintin assumption, and he will of course be in The Hobbit films as well.

So long as we're singing the praises of Andy Serkis then let's keep the music link going by noting his portrayal of legendary Joy Division / New Order / Happy Mondays producer Martin Hannett in "24 Hour Party People"... a most enjoyable little film if I may say so xnod

Yeah, you should nick500. Although it's not a brilliant film it's certainly a worthy watch. There are plenty of good performances with Paddy Considine (Rob Gretton) and, of course, Steve Coogan (Tony Wilson) standing out. Loads of camoes and reference points for the sad muso's among us to spot. AND, of course, bloody brilliant tunes to boot. 'AVE IT!  xbop

He may have been a right cock at times but Tony Wilson was a man who knew his onions and was prepared to put his money where his mouth was. Legend.  xtip

Against my better judgement I watched Cats and Dogs 2 today.

Oh dear God, why did I do it to myself.

Just watched toy story 3 and '9' back to back. Both visually amazing but very contrasting films. Ts3 does what it says on the tin, the plot barely different to the last two. '9' however was very original and hardly surprising to see Tim Burton as one of the producers. Ignore fluffy cartoons, watch '9', is very very good.

Shutter Island - NO!

Inception - Good enjoyable but deep!

Watched The Other Guys yesterday and was disappointed, if you've seen the trailer you've seen all the funny moments the film has to offer.

Avoid it.

Just back from Knight and Day... possibly the worst film I've seen this year, and I've seen a lot. A plot with more holes than the West Brom defence, a budget which allows them to travel all across the world for very little reason, a cast that is limited at best...

I wish I'd not bothered.
