Listening to at the moment: the Divine Comedy
Last seen: The Who (with Mr Lard back in December 2008) - seeing Muse in September
Last bought: KISS - Sonic Boom (haven't even listened to it yet, but it will be replaced by the Divine Comedy's Bang Goes the Knighthood on Monday)
Last read: Brian Wilson's autobiography - it made me sad.

Wouldn't it be Nice: My Own Story apparently is nearly all fictional trump, it turns out from Brian Wilson's doctor who made Brian put his name to it :(

Listening to at the moment: High Violet - The National
Last seen: The National at Royal Albert Hall
Last bought: High Violet - The National

Can you see where this is going?

As we're almost halfway through the year, I'm going to compile my albums of the year so far (top 10).  Might put a playlist together on Spotify.  What else can I do now the football season is over!? ; )

To continue from the previous thread, the Divine Comedy's "Bang Goes The Knighthood" is a wonderful album. Really, really good stuff (the previous DC album was a bit pony overall, quite disappointing). It's another group/artist who have set up their own record company to good effect.

Only really got DC's best of album. One of those bands I should dedicate more time to because I like Neil Hannon. I've heard good things about his other project Duckworth Lewis Method but again not got round to listening to the album.

Help me out here you techno whizz kid guys, I'm confident you can. At 57, I don't understand these things.
I'm really itching to get the music and favourite stuff that means something to me on my own cd's in my car or at home. Now I've heard of itunes and the like. Is it possible for me to burn onto a cd at home. I have a compaq puter and I've been into itunes and I'm really not sure if I can do that.
Forgive my ignorance, at my age I'm really chasing the times. I sit here and think it's really great that I can converse with you guys and keep in touch with the club and various other things from around the world. But sometimes I speak to some people and hear what they are doing and nod my head, but inside I'm thinking 'Wow, wish I could do that'.
So lads, can you help me with this. Can I burn from my computer onto a cd, or not?

Ozy, windows media player will allow you to make compilations from your own CD's.

I-tunes is about the worst way for you to get music on a CD. It is designed for those that only want music on their I-pod and phone, and restricts you putting them elsewhere.

Windows media player is simple enough, or my fave is creative media player, though media monkey is good as well, but likes you to buy it.

Just look for the burn cd option on media player and move the files to the burn list then press the burn cd option.
for computer use only or if the stereo has an MP3 function burn them under that, as you will get more songs, but for a cd player or non MP3 car stereo use the standard burn functions

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Have secured tickets to see the Moody Blues in September in Bournemouth.  After 40 years, they're still supreme.

Quality lives forever.

Anyone else make the Kings of Leon show at Hyde park last Wednesday? Had a good day in good company and decent weather, the Kings were very true to album and put on a tight no-frills performance. Bit annoying that I was working in One Hyde Park in the morning, having to drive home just to get the train back into town to go to HYDE PARK in the afternoon, but such is life!
One thing I would criticise is the KOL hand-picked support line up which was narrower than Capellos world cup squad. Not all bad acts, but certainly all in the bracket of blues-tinged dad-rock. The Wigs (not bad), The Drums (pretty poor and terrible pudding basin haircuts), The Black Keys (best of the lot) and The Features (nothing special). And is it unaceptable to not be called 'The.......' these days??

We are going to see The World Rock Symphony Orchestra at Niagara's Falls View Casino Resort on my 50th birthday in a couple of weeks. http://fallsviewcasinoresort.com/entertainment/event.aspx?id=146

Then on the 19th July we are going to see JIMMY CLIFF in Toronto then it's DAVID GRAY and RAY LAMONTAGNE in August at the Molson Amphitheatre also in Toronto.

I think Jimmy Cliff will be the highlight of these 3.
