For sheer musical brilliance you can't go wrong with Massive Attack.
Blue Lines in '91 and Protection in '95 are the best albums I have ever heard. Collaborated with the likes of Damon Albarn, Portishead, and Guy Garvey from Elbow. They are most noted for being the frontrunners of the term "trip-hop", which has served the likes of Faithless, Portishead and Bjork well.

Karmacoma, Unifinished Sympathy, Daydreaming, Teardrop and Inertia Creeps are fantastic, I bought Blue Lines and Protection for £9 at HMV on Wednesday, a real bargain.

Any other Massive Attack fans out there?

Massive attack are a great band. I would say one of the few that can cross the prejudices that people impose on different types of music.  Did they have a concert or songs played by someone such as the royal philharmonic orchestra?

Safe from harm. Yes.     Teardrops is my fav
I have a few more of their albums. Collected is their 2 part compilation album.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

"Teardrop" is indeed a wonderful song ......... but it would have been rendered arguably mundane were it not for the sublime vocals of Elizabeth Fraser - and that opens up a whole new thread of Cocteau Twins recommended listening...."Iceblink Luck" for starters  xbop

I've been listening to a lot of Absolute Radio 90's at the moment - my era, and all that...

Guess who just blagged themselves a free ticket for Prodigy (plus Pendulum, Enter Shikari, Chase and Status, Does It Offend You, Yeah?) at Milton Keynes on Saturday?

Go on ... have a guess?

Wow what a weekend of musical joy I had. Just got home from Truck 13 Music Festival (in Steventon, near Didcot). For any of you that like indie (new bands, unheard/up and coming bands, and mid nineties indie and/or folk) then you should really consider going next year.  It's a reasonably sized festival (6 stages including one in a barn!) £80 for the weekend and has a very local feel (no bar where you can only buy Carling etc. All the bars have local ciders and beer).

Anyway, the music....headliners on Saturday were Mew (a danish indie pop band) and yesterday Teenage Fanclub (lots of people my age full of nostalgia). I went to specifically see Fionn Regan (irish folky singer recently likened to Bob Dylan going electric!) and Tellison, both were absolutely fantastic.

The best named band The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band were awesome (a bit of jazz thrown into the festival mix). And the two acts I knew nothing about but thoroughly enjoyed were Borderville (a four-piece cabaret rock band) and folk singers Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou. Lots more to tell you about and recommend but must catch up on some sleep, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Feel free to have a look at the Truck website www.thisistruck.com
