Have we heard whether the team is to continue or not? I remember we were told at the AGM that the club had more or less decided what it was going to do, but that the matter had then been put on hold because of possible devleopments outside the club's control. Unless I've missed it, there has been no update on this.

I was reminded of this when I read  that Ebsfleet are planning to reinstate their Reserve team after several years without one.

Assuming Henno has now departed and the squad disbanded of which it has, then I would take it that there wont be a U21`s team next season, only the academy teams. It`s a shame as Henno has and had proved what a good manager he was/is not forgeting to mention Steve who also done a grand job. I`m sure everyone will join in with me and salute them both who i am sure will be a success if they decide to return/carry on with management/coaching.

I have to admit to being dissappointed at the decision, but I can understand why it was made to a degree given the GULF between Kent league and BSS. I too wish Henno and All those involved over the past few exceptional years all the best for the future

Presumably we lose all of the highly successful Dartford Whites, apart for the small number who have already been signed up for the first team squad.

Confirmed that the Reserves have disbanded, so guess the way forward is to go with the Academy teams.

Good luck to Henno but I have always said that the reserves should play in a higher quality standard league, guess the costs involved make this prohibitive.

But what happens to these players when they have completed the Academy course? Very few players, even from last year's exceptionally successful Dartford Whites, will be ready for first team football at our level at the age of 18.

My suggestion would be simple, when too old to play in the Academy side  (is there an age limit?) send the cream of the crop out on loan to Ryman South/North level, that will ensure that they continue to progress.

One tongue in cheek solution would be, as the whole of VCD has gone to Chatham, why can't we take over VCD and have our Under21/reserve team playing there

I have always assumed that there was in practice an age limit , Kebabus. The Academy combines academic study at the College  with training and playing competitive football. It would appear that they can't go on playing once they finish their academic course. Certainly the rules say that anyone who drops out of the College studies also leaves the squad.
