There are good financial rewards, it really is about time we had a good cup run, it's been so long since we had one, the magic of the cup is alive and kicking, lets really have the name of Dartford fc up in lights, I challenge DFC to 'go on a run'

KP - Why away to Sheffield Wednesday?
Fist, I just think it would be great. Famous old club; famous old ground; possible 15,000+ crowd. A proper FA Cup awayday trip if ever there was one (don't want to be travelling 20 miles to Dagenham or Brentford or, God forbid, Gillingham). Also the idea of an FA Cup tie between a "used to big once but look at us now" club vs a "Phoenix from the Flames" club makes for a great FA Cup story and a marketing dream for theTV people. One to fire the imagination of the viewing public.

Southampton would be nice too, mind.

Ah - Sheffield Wednesday. That will be in the 3rd Round Proper then to look forward to  xbop . I think the first two rounds are regionalised.

COYD
Nope, don't think they are, Pete. Certainly weren't last year anyway (Tooting & Mitcham had to travel to Stockport County!). Can't find anything on the FA website to suggest otherwise?

Ah well. As Gooner also says, its all hidden in the small print, and to be honest there have been so many changes to the rules of the FA Cup, it is so easy at my stage of live not to worry about such things. Quite happy to be corrected - and also to see Sheffield Wednesday v Darts in the 3rd round proper. It will be a more local match for me too. xnod xnod

To go on a cup run, as proposed by Kebabus, and a comfortable finish in the BSBS  would be a great season for me. I always like the appearance of a giantkiller in the FA CUP xnod

Never mind the later rounds and who we may or may not get, let's see who we get in this roud first, and more importantly for most of the clubs in the draw at this stage I expect most of them to be looking out and hoping for our name to be drawn out against them.

Either a big home gate if they are drawn away to play us at P.P. or at the very least if they are drawn at home then they will be expecting 300-400 Darts fans to travel away, such is our support and a large finacial boost to most of the clubs even if they are in our league.

Bring on whoever is drawn out, be it minnow or one of our near neighbours, even Dover, we know that there will be good support on the day and a win will have some of us speculating again about who we might draw a few rounds further on, COME ON YOU DARTS

Not knowing how the FA will work out the geographical areas, but based on where the other Kent teams played at the weekend, we will be put into the following group of 28;

Hythe Town
Erith & Belvedere
Chipstead
Alton Town
Carshalton Athletic
Guildford City
Tooting & Mitcham United
Metropolitan Police
Erith Town
Beckenham Town
Burgess Hill Town
Fleet Town
Folkestone Invicta
Whitstable Town
Ashford Town (Middx)/Worthing
Whitehawk
Margate
Bognor Regis Town
Chertsey
Dover
Ebbsfleet
Welling
Bromley
Farnborough
Woking
Lewis
Staines Town
Dartford

These four names; Maidstone, Hastings, Tonbridge Angels, Slough, that people that may have thought would be there all fell at the first hurdle.

Anyway after all this, with the kind of mentality at the FA, they probably they put us with all the other Essex, Suffolk, and Herts Teams  :-P :-P :-P

I think I'll be pre-emptively booking the Tuesday of the replay off just in case.

That is a tough draw.

Lowestoft have done well the last few years (two promotions)and started well in Ryman Premier.

I know someone that moved up to Lowestoft and goes to see them.
