As already said umpteen times friendly results are not the be all and end all, but the young Darts side performed pretty well despite Horans over physical approach and the Deres management need to explain themselves (and ref) as to why he was not removed from the field for what can only be described as a viscious assault.

Jajo has let you Deres down with some pretty unusual remarks over on the Darts forum and i am glad that the rest of you actually remarked on the game in a fair way.

Its obvious that the Deres will do ok in the KL but it appears that the team has not gelled and that it may be an in and out start.

As for the Darts that was their 5th game in 11 days so it has been tough stanima wise and most Darts fans are more than satisfied with what has been presented before them.

Hats off to the darts, you were the better side for 90 minutes. I agree with your comments about Horan, its a disgrace that he gets away with kicking like that! He is a grown man and should have more sense..

In our defense though, Friskey played out of position and looked the only danger when he actually got the ball (which wasnt often), and i feel chino played the wrong formation in putting two in the centre against your three.

Was you impressed with any of our players displays??? i though Morris personally played well against a very good striker in Jimmy.

Good luck in the season, i honestly hope you are succesful

I was all ready to have a bit of friendly banter with Horan, because let's face it, he was a good player for us, scored some good goals and gave a bit of steel to our midfield. Fair play to him, he's got work commitments (apparantly) and Kent League is the highest level he can commit to.

AND THEN he goes and kicks out at Jimmy Carter - because he tackled him. Immediately he becomes an arch enemy and he's lucky not to get sent off. The ref should have made Erith sub him.

Back to the game, we didn't play too well, the gnats chewing my ankles had more bite than either midfield after Horan decided to stop kicking not only opposing players but the ball as well. We didn't get it out to the wide men enough, and when we did, some inexplicably long ranged shots were fired in up and over.

I don't know what goal you was watching 5th but it wasn't the edge of the area that I saw Dave Martin score from, it was fully 30-35 yards! I think our boys looked tired but they needed this intensive pre-season. There's 3 days rest and hopefully we can take the performance up a notch or two on Saturday because we played at Erith's level yesterday

I was trying to play it fairly so as not to rub it in to much for the E & B supporters.     as their defence was just nowhere near Davey to be able to stop him.

did TOMMY MARTING AND ANTHONY HENRY play last night ???

Anthony Henry played the whole game for us lastnight and still looks very useful, hopefully TB can agree terms with him and get him signed up.

Tommy Martin didn't play against us lastnight, not sure if it was a case that he just wasn't picked lastnight or it was a gentlemans agreement that he wouldn't play against us.

I think Tommy could settle in fairly well for E & B as this is probably the right level for him to be able to spray the ball around a bit more as he will have a bit more time, also he's always settled in well whilst playing in the KL for the other teams he's played for.

GOOD LUCK TOM

If "spraying" the ball around is a euphemism for giving it to the opposition then I wholeheartedly agree. Whilst I am happy to wish TM well at his new club, I find it amusing that some of Erith's fans think he was one of our best players. If they hang around waiting over the next few years, I am sure that as we make our way back to the top of Kent football, we can offload a few more "best" players to help them in their quest for imperfection.
