Not pretty, but a win's a win and three lovely points.
Must mention the Maidenhead Massive, they sang through most of the match, and were still singing after most of us had gone home or left the pitch. As I walked out at their end they were doing a great rendition of " We'll score again, don't know where don't know when. But we know we'll score again some sunny day".
Great support lads.

I agree, although very few in number there supporters were good.
However as was pointed out to me at the end of the game all but three of their players completely ignored them and went straight down the tunnel, very poor show from their players and management.

This performance has been described as scrappy, hard fought, not pretty.......
Maybe, but this was the type of game that not so long ago we were losing so very well done again lads.
Thought Maidenhead were not much different to several teams we have played but we finished stronger and the subs made a big impact.

I get frustrated when i hear that Ryan is not in the starting eleven ,because i know that he offers so much when playing well. But it seems like saving "flying Ryan "till the second half when the game has opened up and fitness is beginning to tell is a winning plan! xnod COYD!!!!!

I thought that the first half performance was poor, and the Darts were lucky not to be behind at half time. I was starting to count the missed chances in front of goal and worry about our defensive frailties.

However, the team came out in the second half in a more positive vein, it seemed to me, but the introduction of Harris and Hayes was welcome. They raised the performance, the intensity, and we had width all of a sudden, with more options to spread play and thread passes. Hayes's crosses proved to be match winners and it was pleasing to see captain Bradbrook put the ball in the net.

A good win Darts and we now are a most respectable 12th in the table.

The introduction of Danny and Ryan certainly turned the game on its head. The first half wasn't pretty but a draw at half time was probably about fair as both sides could and should have scored at least a couple. As the second half progressed you could feel it slipping away from us, but the introduction of Ryan and Danny gave us new impetus and completely turned the game on its head. To be honest, that was the eleven I would personally have chosen to start the game and, at the moment, would probably be my favoured starting eleven even if everyone was fit and available. I'm a big fan of Ryno's and would plump for Danny and Sherry as our most effective two up front but, having said that, you can't argue with 7 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss in our last 11 league games.

The result is everything and I have to concede that you couldn't really ask for much more than a 3-0 win and being able to bring on two "impact players" with as much quality as those two is one almighty card to have up the sleeve.

Tough to pick a MOTM today, very much a team effort, but I plumped for Champion by a whisker over Youngy.

3-0 slightly flattering, but had the game run for a further 30 mins we'd have won 6-0. Says something for the team's overall fitness and dedication methinks. Agreed with the back seat boys re: MOM, since Messr. Young made a couple of decent saves and didn't misfire a SINGLE kick (not sure I've ever seen that before).
Massive credit to the 'Head massive who had clearly ".....drunk more than us, they'd drunk much more than us...."! Was impressed by their flags and HUGE banner.

Highlight of the match was Champs having a set-to with their no 5, great banter by Tom as he reeled away fanning the stink from his face, then the #5 getting booked (presumably for smelling so bad).

A view from their director (Steve Jinman): http://educatedleftfoot.blogspot.com/

Heart of Dartness

The crawling train journey from central London to Dartford is pretty nondescript once you pass the architectural landmarks of the Shard and the New Den so although the metaphor of Colonel Kurtz's trek up the Congo is inappropriate, yet another defeat left the words of Marlon Brando swirling round my head as the horror of relegation looms ever larger for the Magpies.

Today it was the crossbar's turn to deny Maidenhead a goal not once but twice before the inevitable sucker punches arrived in the final quarter of the game from Charlie Sheringham and Elliot Bradbrook (two).  The second goal which finally killed off any hope of an equaliser two minutes from time was a classic counter attack following an enterprising Maidenhead move sparked by a trailblazing run from Jerome Federico.

A striker, a striker a kingdom for a striker must be the heartfelt plea of any Magpie fan as all the good defending and work in the midfield will forever come to naught unless someone is found who can consistently add the finishing touch to the periods of the game when the Magpies are on top.

On a personal note Princes Park was the 200th I have watched football at.  The first of course being York Road back in 1980.  This was a great venue to notch up the double century.  Walking to the ground you do not notice it until you walk up the drive as its hidden by the warehouse like David Lloyd health club which borders the dual carriageway.  The town is clearly hiding its light under a bushel as the ground is a real gem for a complete new build with its wrap around terrace covered in all parts by a high roof.  This makes for excellent sight lines with the corners filled in to provide disabled viewing access which is a nice touch.

The absence of a main stand is of no consequence with the closed in feeling adding to the atmosphere.  The mind boggles as to what it must have been like when it was filled for the Darts FA Cup tie against Port Vale in the autumn.  There is innovative use of wood in the building materials with a wooden statue in one part of the ground which I'm sure must be unique.  The social facilities are as good as would be expected for a new complex although there is a chance of a Spinal Tap "where's the stage" moment as you wander the cavernous corridors.  All in all a great monument to what can be achieved when the local authority works together with a grand old football club.  Windsor & Maidenhead LA please take note!

agree with most points re the game, 3-0 win ugly can't be bad!! i always feel we have to score first though before we start to play with more confidence & pass it around (to a white shirt) more fluently.
thought they had the better of the first half & seemed to be firing in the shots whereas we had 2/3 clear one on ones which should of resulted in 1 goal at least methinks!!
anyway we managed to beat a team 'below' us in the league & keep another clean sheet so looking okay at the moment as we move nicely up the table.
i too thought it was a good show from their fans, at the beginning when the 4 of them sung 'hey jude' i thought the beatles had reformed and was very impressed with their 5 x man conga when 3 down.
on a negative note though i thought the referee was poor, far too whistle happy (how many times did he blow for a foul from a corner or free kick floated into the box? always in favour of the defence so not biased but everyone (players & fans) bewildered as to the offender!! he has obviously never played the game in any capacity and was probably the last boy standing up against the school yard wall when teams were picked on far too many occasions!!
let the game flow man!!!!

well done the darts, another win and move up the table - 1st half was very poor but 2nd half was much better - scoreline was a bit flattering but the game changed when tb brought on ryno and danny. brilliant 2nd goal by bradders - must say the ref was terrible but thats the norm in the BSS - where does the BSS find these clowns ????? - i always thought contact was part of the game ???? but the directive from the clowns at the FA/UEFA/FIFA are changing the game for the worse not better - whats the point in having corners if everytime they are taken there is a free kick given and all the players and fans scratch their heads as to what the infringment was -

hopefully a good win on tesday and then the semi finals of the KSC

Needed the second goal to kill off the game. This match could have been 5-3 with the goal chances. Didn't think a lot of the 'Magpies', and we found it hard to break them down. So 3-0 was a bit flattering. Youngie kept us in it with some great saves. The save in the first half was excellent, although I felt he should have held it???
The introduction of Hayes and Harris turned the game, and Haysies cross for the second, how it got to Bradders? Should have been cut out long before, but the finish was superb. Ryan still infuriates with his silliness on the ball, but can't complain, he turned the game.
Noble, Sheringham and Bruce for me and a competent performance from Matt Jones. But can't disagree with Youngie being given MOTM at the ground.

I truly don't expect to see a better pass played this season than the one from Ryno for Bradders' 1st goal. An absolute peach  xbow xbow xbow
