Not every Dartford fan works 9-5, some even work nights an early kick off could well put many people off attending.
Our season tickets are for Dartford not England  :-D But with luck we don't live in the stone age, the club has a sky subscription and i take it they have the latest box? Record the match and show it after the Lewes fixture! The players and management of both teams can also relax with a beer and watch the game with the fans.

It can be promoted as a curry and footie evening for example, no loss of revenue, happy days!

i echo the point above as i work shifts - if i was on a early shift on a Saturady morning i would finish at 2.30pm and rush to PP just in time - and i agree some people do work nights ect ect lets just stick to 3pm and if a few really want to watch England let them

In the current financial climate, any club with a large function room and an international sporting event as a clashing alternative would be wise to consider the merits of changing the kick-off time.  Not only might it result in more people attending the football match, but more may stay on afterwards and spend their hard-earned pounds over our bar rather than one of those in town.

I will probably still be at the football, but will be more easily swayed to miss if there is a big sporting alternative in my living room or local.

Come on you DARTS!

i would rather go and see the darts play than stay indoors and watch england play crap as usual.
also 1 p.m kick off would mean i would miss it cos off not finishing work till then.

England or Dartford? Both 3pm K-O. Hmmm
Do I stay in, in the warmth of my own home, and  be asleep by 3.30, or....
No contest.

While it's easy to be disenchanted with the current crop for reasons pointed out in Spike's thread, it does baffle me how people can turn their backs entirely on their national team. A bit like the saying "You can choose your friends but not your family".

A good point raised about KO time for this game and one I would endorse. Besides, early matches are fun.

that assumes that all Dartford supporters are English....some of us took great delight in their team chasing down 328 in style in the Cricket World Cup earlier this week.  Anyway what are Wales and England doing kicking off at 3pm on a Saturday in mid-season it just goes to show that the FA don't give a toss about grass roots football.

How, in any way, does DA Mikey's post assume that all Dartford supporters are English?  xshrug

Perhaps by saying in these quotes it does baffle me how people can turn their backs entirely on their national team would suggest that

I thought the word "their" might suggest that the choice of nation belongs to the supporter in question. Apparently it exclusively means English. Thanks for clearing that up.  xtip

I am suprised that the club haven't thought of moving the match to a Friday night.

It could be a good incentive to attract any floating fans that want to watch a game of football without missing the England match.

Simples, as KP would say xwhis

Probably because Tuesday nights are hardly popular, so Friday won't help.
The rest of the footy league are kicking off at 3pm, mostly, so why are we really worried?
I really don't buy the stay in and watch x/y/z instead of the Darts. A lot of us get to the games we can.

Disagree with Friday night fixture. All the Fans who can only make a Saturday fixture. Who like a beer Friday night after a weeks working with mates. And who'd sooner watch the Darts than England. As I said, No contest

5 minutes of highlights from an England game?
Sounds a bit optimistic to me!

Not really, it's the minimum the sponsors insist on  xgiggle  though technically they are just bits of the game, more than highlights ;)
