I agree with Spike - it was a poor performance by the team, not helped by the loss of Bradbrook through injury. Main still looks below par and our play improved with the introduction of Noble and Harris. Young made a few crucial saves that kept the score to 2-0.

I am happy to settle for mid table this season and see us made a gradual improvement in next season. I have reservations about making the next step up to the Football Conference as it implies that we shall have to emply full time players. Softly, softly, catchy ......

Also I just dont buy the 'not trying' 'didn't look interested' I think anyone that laces a pair of boots on a Saturday at least tries and at our level I am pretty sure that 99% of players are honest enough to do the best they can. It might look like a pile of steaming sh**e on the park on a Saturday/Tuesday but I do believe the least they are doing is trying!!

Who knows what might be going on at home, at work, or just plain being knackered due to the amount of games and lack of training due to games games and more games!!

I didn’t go to the game on Saturday so I can’t comment on teams performances but I think I have seen enough this season to realize that our best falls some way short of promotion from this division and that we might be at this level for some years to come. I work with an Ebbsfleet supporter who regularly reminds me that we have no players in our squad which could enhance his team. Now I find this hard to believe but I can’t quite help thinking how many players short we are of competing for honours at our level or do some of you guys actually think our squad is strong enough to mount a title challenge next season without any additions.

Looking at the video content on Saturday we could have been a couple goals to the good before Staines even scored or does this show a true reflection of the game.
We're all doomed! (cont. Dad's Army)

Don’t panic KL!!!

There’s nothing wrong with being at this level. It’s where we belong and I’m enjoying it every step of the way and like Ken has said I’m not sure I want to see full time players at PP for the time.

For us older supporters who suffered under Biddle Julians Sampson be grateful of the football your watching now otherwise you would have been out shopping with the wife more often, for those people who who go away week in week out do for the love of the club so i think it,s a bit of adverse reaction to one result to not to go away again this season.

I will still go to every game I can, it's just that saturday's performance just didn't cut it as far as I'm concerned.

Spot on, DJ John!

I found the comments from DANIELHOMES STAND perverse but we have to remember that our players are semi-professional and they will be disappointed with the performance on Saturday. It will not stop me from going tomorrow evening or the rest of the season for that matter. It's great to see the Darts playing at this level, long may it continue, and to be in the same division as Ebbsfleet, Welling, Bromley and Dover is a bonus.

I disagree. In my opinion, our BEST is enough to win this division outright.

... although our WORST is enough to see us finish bottom and relegated by Christmas.

Your Ebbsfleet mate is yanking your chain. I suspect, like me, he's only seen his rivals twice and that's nowhere near enough to make such a daft statement (especially about a team as erratic as we have been). The Fleet were one of the best sides we've played this season and if you picked a best eleven from both our squads, it is likely they would have more players in it, but all eleven ... well he's entitled to his opinion but I think he's talking nonsense.

Saturdays performance was a big disappointment.
Listened to the radio on the way home on my own as Spike and Smitman both fell asleep and heard England get stuffed in the rugby.
Had our first semi final Sunday, played crap and lost only our second game of the season.

I'm glad this weekend is over..........

Still the good thing is the Darts have two games this week and we have another semi final on Sunday.
Here's hoping.......

Ken I was defending the players against supporters who claim that certain players dont try/dont look interested etc

I was pointing out that regardless of the performance good, bad or indifferent the least the lads are doing is trying to win the game...Wasn't commenting on our general performances because I reckon if we add a little quality over the summer to what we have we wont be too far away next term especially if Braintree are the benchmark!!

Of course I fell asleep... its hardly suprising after that match. Still its our first poor performance for a while and i'm sure its just a minor blip. Don't really think we need to say too much more as i'm pretty sure TB will have already said it.
