That was an epic of a game and I'm well pleased to have made the effort. A fantastic game and a brilliant atmosphere.

My MoM should have gone to Noble but, his failing to acknowledge the crowd when substituted was I feel out of order to be honest and so I gave it to Pallen.

First time I've seen him (Pallen) and to be honest what a find. We have to try and hold on to Pallen and players like him because he could be a very big part of DFC's future and I'm sure worth quite a bit to us a few seasons from now. I thought he and Charlie (who got my Player of the Season vote today) worked very well together.

We have in my opinion, the nucleus of a great squad for next season now and apart from one or two positions that in my view need stengthening, we won't need to bring in the number new players that we did at the start of this season.

Well done to all today

I also thought the announced attendance was on the low side; my guesstimate was nearer 1400.

Anybody know what the trouble caused by the Woking supporters behind the Academy end goal in the 2nd half that called for the intervention of the stewards was all about?

To be fair to Lee he did acknowledge the crowd initially when he was walking past the centre circle.

No idea but their supporters were just as bad if not worse at their ground. It appears they have a small element which does not do their club any favours.

I understand they didn't like our Stewards not letting them smoke on the terraces.

What a fantastic match ! The first half hour Woking had us on the back foot and probably deserved to be ahead but then we came into it and thoroughly deserved to get the equaliser and then take the lead and then add a third just before half time. Three well taken goals !
I thought we were tremendous and worked so hard. We could have had a few more goals in the second half as they found it hard to handle our players. The midfield battled for everything and our back four were solid.
Our front two caused them problems every time they got the ball and we have a rising  star in young Jack Pallen. If it wasn't for the industrious Lee Noble who shone again today young Jack would get my vote for the MOTM, he's someone who could have a bright future ahead of him. Charlie was excellent all afternoon again.
The players are playing with belief in their own ability now and look relaxed on the field, bodes well for next season.
Where did the referee get those added minuted from ?  xshrug
1200+, i don't think so, more closer to 1400 !   xwhis
Great afternoons entertainment, who needs the Premiership !

My apologies then to Lee for not seeing him do it. There were a few of us behind the goal who missed it.

We have at least "Cemented" our position in this league and we will be back better and stronger next season. I am confident of a top 7 finish for next season.

Attendance - given the number that came through the entrance I man then the official figure would be correct.  I was expecting to be much busier today but there was only one short spell where there was any significant queue and it was really quiet from 2:45 onwards when it is normally very busy.

Some of the Woking supporters seem to pride themselves on being really well behaved when they win but then if they lose they seem to take the attitude that they need to play up to get back at the opposing club for having the temerity to win.  They were certainly making comments and chants along these lines when they were 1-0 up........so if the stewards needed to speak to them later then that is no surprise.  Woking also seem to have a section of supporters that have gained a certain reputation for poor behaviour on away trips.

As to the match itself what a tremendous game - great entertainment and a superb performance by the Darts.  If the guilt edged chances made in the second half had been put away then the score could have embarrassed Woking.  Amongst other chances great credit to Lee Noble, when clean through on the keeper, for setting up James Rogers but how did James miss that one?

Charlie and Jack Pallen linked superbly together and the two goals where they set each other up in the space of a couple of minutes said everything about how good the team can be when they get the ball down on the deck and pass it around.  Sublime passing and clinical finishing.  To my mind the centre of midfield always looks so much better when Elliot plays there and pairing him with Lee Burns looks the perfect combination.  With Lee Noble and James Rogers out wide the midfield was solid, combative and constructive.  The back four was solid and with Charlie and Jack up front the team looked a really well balanced, cohesive unit.  I did wonder about the substitutions - Jack Pallen was playing really well and replacing him with Ryno up front certainly upset the balance.  Also when Matt Jones came on I assumed that as Elliot was struggling he would be taken off, especially as he has not been carrying a niggle recently I was very surprised to see Lee Noble go off.   After Tuesday's match at Ramsgate I would have liked to have seen Jake Burman or Rankin get on for a few minutes to see if they could produce the same form as they did on Tuesday at least that could have given Elliot a chance to come off early but by then things were much closer than they should have been as Woking had pulled back to 3-2. .

Custard, I can definitely confirm that Nobes did acknowledge the crowd (towards two or three sides infact) so I'm sure he'll be a little disappointed he lost your vote on that minor observational error on your part.  Ever thought of taking up a career in refereeing?  xbop

Think the first half summed up our second half of this season, everyone gets behind the team and they realise how good they are and they play football! Good to see Bradders and Pallen on the score sheet, thought rogers should have taken his two chances, as well as Sheri getting his header.

Good overall performance, taking us above Bromley in the table! COYDs!  xbow
