NOT a match thread as probably far to early but just wondered what people on here are thinking?

It's our first final in 15 years and i'm very up for it and really looking forward (although not knowing the date yet!) and hope we can bring at least 700 to Hayes Lane for the final (as we did for the Cray Game last year) to make it a fantastic atmosphere with singing before the game, all the way through until after the final whistle.

However I have seen posts, especially earlier on in the competition, that it's just a 'tinpot' cup and that people aren't really bothered about it. Also, by looking at highlights from previous KSC finals, there don't seem to be many people there, no real celebrations as such by fans or players and little atmosphere.

Does this trophy mean a lot? I've heard it used to when the final was played in front of thousands of people, but it seems to be devalued now.

I'll admit I didn't go to Ramsgate on Tuesday but I think all supporters should get together for the game and really make it a great atmosphere like Bognor, Port Vale and Ebbsfleet, as after all, it is our first final for 15 years and the first some of us will have witnessed! I think we should all enjoy the game as a great end to a good first season in the BSS!

What do we think?

Even though its our 1st final for 15yrs you could well find a lot of people aren't interested purely because of the type of cup it is (the county cup), it never does create much interest at all. Also with the final almost certain to get played midweek as per all the previous rounds that may also put people off.
I really hope I'm wrong as the lads have done well to get to the final and to win it after all these years would be great and infront of a big gate will make it that bit more special for the whole team.

Alas if the final is to be played on the date I heard the other night then it means I will have to miss it along with the last 3 games of the vseason as I will be in Cornwall. Hopefully it gets played before I go but I doubt it.

Good Luck to all the players & management and hope that everyone including the fans has a great night.

A final is a final as far as I'm concerned, and I'll be there if I can.

Any trophy keeps the momentum going - "success breeds success" as they say.

I hope we get a good turnout as it is always nice to win a trophy. In my opinion it's a great opportunity to put a bit of sparkle on what has already been a very good season. The KSC used to be considered a big prize many years ago and its a shame that this and so many other cups seem to have become unimportant "tin pots" in some people's eyes. It's funny but the Peter Taylor years were considered as great and glorious but in reality all we ever won was these so called tin pots. Personally I'm really looking forward to it.

According to the Kent FA's own website the date has not yet been decided.

This could be a tricky one to schedule. With the other semi being played next week, that leaves very little time to get a game in. Week commencing 18/4 is out, thanks to Havant's dodgy pitch and Bromley moving our game. Week commencing 25/4 could be out as the 2 finalists will play league games on the 25/4, that only leaves 28/4 as a possible date (Thursday). Week commencing 2/5 could be out, if Cray reach the final and the play-offs. If not the Bank Holiday Monday (2/5) could be a possible and ideal date if the 2 teams can agree. If not 3/5 or 4/5 evenings would be favoured.

All will be revealed next week.......hopefully

Hopefully it will be Monday 2nd May as I can make it then plus your more likely to get a lot more people go if its an afternoon kick off than an evening one where people are either rushing home from work or having to work.
Bank Holidays are always better for football.

Don't know about 700, a lot of people will be uninterested, particularly if its a midweek and it coincides with a european or premier league game.

Agree with alot of what's been said before

For me :

It is a Cup Final and as a fellow fan stated,  in the 80's, we celebrated winning this cup      look at the phots in the programme  POD    let's WIN it !

2 title wins in 3 years before this season meanss if we win it    then that's 3 trophies in 4 seasons   happy days !  xbow

Whenever we play      I'll be there with my 3 boys and other family who do want to come along       whether they're gloryhunters or not      ..       I don't care about that           I'm just proud that the Darts are in a final

Let's build the momentum up for the game and as I said on another post take over the ground

I can't wait ...   tell a mate...    sod Euro football      be  there to support the Darts !!! :-)
