i still dont no wat the full problem was but a train had been stuck outside bexlyheath station and i believe had been stuck at signals for a while, and i asume they were getiing a bit aggitated..and decided to rip open the doors and jump onto the track . so they had no chice but to cut the juice
just to add it also took me 3 hours to get in
That someone may have got frustrated and got off the train may well be true, and though it may have compounded the problem it was certainly not the cause. Not surprising that SouthEastern would latch onto this and try and use it as an excuse, but truth is, the passengers action was a consequence, not a cause and their so-called network had already disintegrated into meltdown long before then.
The train I was held captive on, just outside Sidcup, was so ridiculously hot and airless that many people were starting to feel unwell and whilst I wouldn't do it myself, I can well understand why people get frustrated and take the matter into their own hands. Eventually we moved a few hundred yards only to be turfed off at Sidcup where we were told to go and get a bus where our tickets would be valid.
Needless to say, the bus driver knew nothing of this but since his bus over-heated and broke down anyway (I kid you not) it didn't really matter.
Three and a quarter hours from Charing Cross to Dartford ... I probably could have walked it.
