Rebekah Brooks
« on: July 07, 2011, 10:10:30 AM »

Can anyone out there name a more grotesque, disgusting, despiseable female on the face of the planet. If this deplorable woman is not sent down for an extended stay at Her Maj's pleasure then any last remnant of the flickering glimmer of justice in this country will have been well and truly extinguished.

And as for Andy Coulson.....

If she had been a politition, police chief inspector, head of any major organisation or even you or me the NOTW would have cricified her.  The women should do the decent thing (for once) and resign.

And Cameron at PMQ's yesterday was an embarrassment.  A legacy of the Thatcher/News International era I wonder?

Ah yes, David Cameron. The man who stopped Ms Wade (as was) from getting sacked by Murdoch the last time the S.H.T.F. Shame we don't know any local Tory politicians who might like to comment on DC's support of this 'woman'.

Wasn't she married to Grant Mitchell at some stage. I like her hair though.

Absolute comedy gold as 'Coulson' appears to be handed up on a plate and the clip of Blair kissing Reebekaaahhhhh on a vist to the NOTW.

A few years ago the NME used to run a feature where it showed a family tree of a band and how the members formed other bands etc. Would love to see that for the way all these people are 'mates' etc.

There's about as much chance of la Brooks doing the honourable thing and resigning as there was of Karen Shoesmith (name?) resigning over Baby P and Cressida Dick over the Menendez affair (among many others no doubt). The concept of the buck stopping at the top regardless is dead and buried these days. Ah, for a return to the days of the moral code that made John Profumo resign without a second thought at the first hint of the Christine Keeler scandal breaking.

If I commented every time a politician (labour, tory or lib dem) did something that surprised me I  would have no time for anything else.  I suppose all any of us can do is hold our own views, try to do the right thing in our own decisions and express views as openly as we can.

And my view?  There's a golden rule in newspapers that Editors are responsible for their newspapers - morally, legally and financially.     I thought I wouldn't hear anything worse than hacking into the phone of a missing girl and deleting messages that may have helped the police but then came the revelations that they had hacked relatives of fallen soldiers and victims of 7/7 . Despicable, disgusting and probably as low as you can get.  She took the cash and the plaudits for editing the paper and she's responsible. She should go, or be sacked.

My guess is that her career is the last of her worries though.  Wouldn't be too surprised if she were helping the boys with their enquiries sometime soon.

I wouldn't bet against her eventually being appointed to the Board of News International as a deputy to the ruling Murdochs. After all, Cressida Dick's now an Asst Commissioner at the Met....

My final word on this.

So, the  News of the World disappears this weekend (perhaps to be replaced by the Sunday Sun) with all proceeds from the final edition going to worthy causes (?).  In the meantime 200 people stand to lose their jobs.

I suppose the Chipping Norton Set (the lovely Rebekah, Cameron, et al) will still be sipping their chilled Moet in North Oxfordshire this weekend.

Me, cynical?  You bet.

If memory serves .... didn't she once dispense a right old leathering to the mockerney hard man? (serves him right for being absolutely beastly to the delectable Tiffany  :-P)
