Ive had my say in past postings but suffice to say IF I had a son who showed high promise in the 16/18 age group he wouldnt be at the Darts as the track record of progress is poor

TB has excelled by bringing in players from lower leagues and developing them eg " the league 3" but certainly NOT our own youth !!

ALSO

I love the idea of being frugal but IF we want to be with the big boys then on occasions we have to bite the bullet and spend !!!!!!

All facts and NOT meant to be controversial [ honest stoaty !!!! ]

Got to agree with Duke here.

A play off place is well within our reach but TB needs to spend the cash and bring in a proven goalscorer at this level.

We  have to make a statement to the other clubs around the play off places that we mean business . A big signing or two  will do this.

We have the money to spend, so lets get on with it.

I think it was said that our two targets for the season were playoffs in the league and 2nd round proper of the FA Cup. I thought the Cup target might be beyond us but admired the club's ambition there. The league playoff target  though I think is one we really must go for and is not unrealistic.

At the moment Woking and Sutton are rampant and Dover are winning steadily now. Welling, Basingstoke and Weston super Mare are not falling away. Salisbury have a superb home record and you would expect Chelmsford to take off at some point as well. We could very well be swamped within the next couple of months.

Presumably we are looking to buy and are being held to ransom. So do we hold firm against the mercenaries and hope that we can regroup and come again or do we act now and get some new bodies even if we have to pay?

I think this Saturday's match against Salisbury may be very revealing in showing whether we can continue to get away with it when we are down to the bare bones.

I think we need to get somebody in and if this means spending a bit of money then that's what we have to do. IMHO if we don't look to get a good striker in who will get us the goals then we can kiss the play offs good bye. Its going to take Jacob a bit of time to shed his weight and get fully fit & we don't actually know how long he will be with us.
As much as I like Danny Harris & Jack Pallen and love their effort and non stop running neither of these are going to get us 20 goals a season and will only score every now and then. They are 2 very similar players and can't really play off each other.
We are currently in 4th place and unless we start picking up points again on a regular basis will get over taken a few more times.
Certainly don't want this to sound gloomy but just trying to be realistic from what I've seen with the players we've got at present and the way we've played since Charlie has gone.

I think we need to spend. Put some good players around Jason Prior and he'll score all day.
