26th August 2005 Notes
« on: August 26, 2005, 11:22:30 AM »

I would like to thank everybody who turned up to support the team at Enfield Town on Tuesday night to help us gain another three points. I had our opponents watched the previous Saturday and knew what to expect. When we play away from home, teams are going to come at you whether you like it or not, we are trying to install some organization and discipline into the team from back to front and front to back so that every player as a job to do this will take time. On Tuesday we defended for long periods of the game and I felt that we coped with everything they threw at us. I felt at half time with a little bit more intelligent play we could win the game and above all at half time the players believed they could win the game.

On Sunday we start our FA.Cup campaign against Dorking for obvious reasons we all want a good cup run.

I have had Dorking watched and the preparation will be the same as for any other game that we have played this season. Tommy Olson as been outstanding in our first four games but is unavailable for Sunday or Tuesday, Brad Potter as returned and Gary Carter and Craig Dennis will be training with us Saturday morning, Tostao has text me and is waiting for his visa he should return at the end of next week.

I also feel the time is right to tell you what I think is another step forward for the club and to all prospective poaches. We have potentially some very good young players at this football club and I am delighted to tell you that Richard Avery ,Ryan Hayes and Dave martin have all signed contracts with Dartford fc .

thank for your support
Tony
