Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Select Profile, Modify Profile, Forum Profile

Choices:

Personalized Picture No avatar
Choose avatar from gallery
Specify avatar by URL
Upload an avatar (won't work - no permissions)

Select Specify avatar by URL & specify new location, eg:
http://www.google.co.uk/logos/2011/Edmond_Haley-2011-hp.jpg
click Change Profile (bottom right) & the profile pic should be changed.

This is what I get.

With the birthday etc info underneath.

I am using Firefox 7.0.1. Same with Firefox 6.0.2. Maybe it's a browser issue? What are you using?

What 180 gets is what I'm getting through Chrome, Opera and my mobile phone... If you want, i can remove your current pic and see whether that makes a difference?

I think unless you have a club avatar (part of the pure DFC thingy) u dont get the option.

You use to get the option to change and adapt but since an update i think about a year ago or last season people who arnt part of the pure DFC cant change it at all. i assume it was a mistake or something?

Shouldn't be the case? I've certainly not put anything like that in place.

I only have SMF 1.1.15 forum software (not 2.0.1 that is running on here), but this still works, ie adding a regular user, I still get the ability to specify a URL for an avatar.
If I change the permissions & un-tick:

Select an avatar from the server
Upload an avatar to the server
Choose a remotely stored avatar

Then all I get for my regular user is Personal Text etc.

Perhaps a permissions problem on this board. I can only think that Elite Club members are in a different group to regular users & the regular users need the permission setting. I may be totally wrong, but that's my 2 pence worth & I'll shut up now.

Have a look at the settings now - I'm guessing there has been some sort of change when upgrading the forum, and it's unticked boxes. Hopefully, this is sorted now.
