Pugh to Cambridge.
« on: January 05, 2012, 12:03:51 PM »

See link below, Pugh is expected to sign for Cambridge today.

http://www.london24.com/sport/exclusive_....today_1_1169208

Doesn't seem like a good deal to me as a certain Welling fan kept telling us he was worth a lot more.

Perhaps the cash flow is not as good at PVR as a lot of people think.

And guess who Pugh's replacement is......

Yes, Warren Mcbean. PMSL

Talk about desperate. He was a good player a few years ago but has really lost his way of late. However, If they've got a fines system in place which includes punctuality for games/training etc, their money worries are over.

The income from Warren's fines alone will rescue them.

Simply a case of someone who always spouts utter tripe on their (and other) forums being caught out as knowing naff all as usual. Wonder what actually happened to the "25 bags" that we were continually told Pugh was worth. This quote says it all:

"to get someone in whos scored more than the player going and get a few grand is superb business"

So, it's 'get a few grand' now is it. Superb business is not the phrase that springs to mind when selling a 'top player' who's out of contract come the summer. Think they're still upset that Charlie commanded such an impressive fee for us. Sour grapes and nothing more. Still, at least the tax might get paid on time.

Ah thanks. Makes sense why he has scored a few goals. i reconise him now from wikipedia...

"Some people are surprised that Warren is still playing at such a low level, when he is capable of performing at a much higher level, however he is well known to think he is bigger than the club and sulk if things aren't going his way. Warren is renowned for changing clubs several times through a season."

This is his fifth club since the start of the season. He left Lewes as he cannot drive:

http://lewesfc.com/news/2011/08/mcbean-departs

"Lewes FC has announced that Warren McBean has left the club.
The striker has found the travelling from his North London home problematic, compounded by the fact that he is unable to drive
."

Why join Margate and Havant if he has problems travelling?

At least he will be able to get the train or bus to PVR & even if he could drive, he wouldn't be able to park at the ground, so its a win win situation for him.

It was on the cards that Welling would sell their prize asset, after the superb effort by Welling fans in bailing the club out trouble last season. I believe many bought advanced season tickets for this season, so cash flow this term must definately be a problem.

I can't for the life of me see how Welling can afford promotion on their gates, i would worry if the Darts went up with average gates below 1500 or 1600. So how Welling could manage financially with the extra costs involved in BSP on their gates i just don't know.

Pugh looked a very decent BSS player, higher up the ladder? but saying that good luck to the lad.
