Taken from the Welling Village Forum:

"I'm sure warren mcbean will be welcomed by players and supporters alike and he should realise straight away that hes come to a club that is on the up and potentially is at the beginning of a very exciting journey and is attracting attention from higher sources"

Alright, which one of you cheeky buggers has been trolling on their forum? Pure comedy gold  xtip

Mc Bean has had more clubs than Boring wood have had loan players this month and that is saying something.

Mayhap Pugh is being realistic. United are pressing for a play-off place in the Conference, maybe he's thinking he'll get a better chance at a game, and if Utd have the cash?
As for McBean having more clubs than.... Step forward Jacob Erskine. A stop-gap Tony says, a damn fine stop-gap if you ask me.

There's also this: http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/pugh-deal-off--wings-sign-new-keeper-9663/

Blue Square Bet South club Welling United striker Andy Pugh's proposed move to Conference Premier outfit Cambridge....
...United has been delayed due to injury.

Welling have confirmed that a proposed transfer will not be completed at this current time.

Pugh has a minor knee injury which he played through against Dartford last week but is likely to keep him sidelined for around a week.

As a result, Cambridge did not want to complete the transfer on Thursday afternoon. The two clubs had agreed an undisclosed five-figure fee for Pugh as well as provision for a sell-on clause.

At this moment in time, Pugh remains a Welling player and the club are in no rush to sell him.

If another acceptable offer comes along for him then the club will, as in this case, allow him to talk to other interested parties.

But Welling will not sell him for less than what they believe is his value and have already rejected two tentative enquiries for him, although neither club made a formal offer in the end.

Pugh has already gone on record to say that he will only leave Welling for full-time football and the club would not want to stand in his way if the terms are acceptable to all parties.

As Pugh was expected to leave the club this week, manager Jamie Day signed Warren McBean on non-contract terms. That move still stands and McBean will be in the squad against Truro this weekend although the knee injury will rule Pugh out of the game.

Meanwhile, on-loan goalkeeper Nick Pope has been recalled by Charlton Athletic to cover a suspension for this weekend's FA Cup game so Day has brought in the experienced Simon Brown, who was released by Cambridge United earlier this week.

Brown joined the U`s towards the end of the 2009/10 season

Starting as an apprentice at Tottenham, the Chelmsford-born stopper made over 140 appearances for Colchester from 1999 before representing Hibernian in the SPL.

Prior to making thirty-two appearances, he enjoyed spells at Brentford, Darlington and Northampton, from where then boss Martin Ling brought him to the R Costings Abbey.

Spoke to Pugh at the Esso petrol station on the way home, he's hoping the move will happen soon. He could not complete the second part of the medical.

The 19-goal former Gillingham forward was expected to make the move earlier this month but it was delayed after he aggravated a knee injury against Dartford on January 2"...

£15,000 with no sell on fee. Wow, they must really need the money urgently to accept that deal.

My only interest in Pugh going to Cambridge is that Welling lose a 16 goal striker and that should have a major effect on theior play off hopes !!!!!!!!

Just give fair criticism. It sometimes antagonises but in truth, some are deserving.

just to widen the discussion a bit , having seen Pugh once and Frannie Collin twice this season v the Darts  , I genuinely belive that neither are in the same class as Charlie Sherringham

Pugh didnt score aginst the Darts in 2 games and Collin only got a penalty against us at PP and neither looked sharp in any  of the games

Both have no pace , cant head a ball and are " goal hangers " and only score aginst poor defences !!!!!!
