Desperately sad news. Legend is an often overstated word, but Fred absolutely was a DFC legend.

Like many others, Fred was one of the first faces I got to know in my early years at Watling Street and he will be sadly missed.

RIP Fred.

Got to know Fred in my early PP games, would always have a chat and would mess about with my son, made us feel at home. When he was ill kept wandering into my partners hospital room as he was really confused, but always had his darts tie on.

Very sad news.

He was never pushy but everyone knew who Fred was.

He seemed to be everywhere about Watling Street in my early days as a supporter.

A real loss to the Dartford FC family.

I got to know Fred and his family in the early 60's at Watling Street and he really was a true gent! I enjoyed the times working with Fred on various committees and on 'paint brush detail' up at the ground. He would seldom complain, always had a smile on his face, and was always content to get the job done without getting a pat on the back.
Fred worked tirelessly for DFC in a long relationship with the Club and was the very best colleague anyone could wish for. A smart, respectable, honest man who will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

I thought I would just post a comment on Our Freds funeral today. All went off very smoothly, and was well represented by members of DFC family. Speaking to member's of Freds family, they thank you all for the messages and comments left on this site when Fred passed away,it was much appreciated and although most of the family now live up north, they still follow the darts results.

God Bless you Fred .
