Segregation at DFC
« on: January 30, 2012, 01:19:52 PM »

Seen that word 'segregation' rear it's head again so thought we gave this subject some airtime.

I believe that away fans have to be 'segregated' in the conference national, so it's not far away but while it's not compulsory lets keep it old skool, imho.

Until we have to, leave well alone!

Have you segregated any games at the new ground?.

Why has this come up now, just a few days before our match ,when the draw was made a couple of weeks ago?

The KSC final was segregated by some impromtu looking barriers and a couple of stewards.

But don't remember anything against Welling at home when there was 2559 inside the ground.

If we start segrating does that mean a percentage of the seats will have to be given up too?  Surely people with 'need' from the opposing team would need looking after too?

I agree about leaving it alone.

The only game that I have seen at Princes Park with segregation was against Dover a few years ago where the segregation was "enforced" with a piece of red and white tape. It has to be said that our stewards are much improved since those days as well.I agree with Kebabus about segregation. There really shouldn't be any need to do it until we either get promotion, or crowd sizes double.

There was some good banter the other week when the Boston fans didn't swap ends although I guess you could say that it only takes one idiot from either set of fans and something kicks off.

There has only been 2 games that have been segregated and that was Dover back in December 2006 and Port Vale last season. I don't remember the KSC Final being segregated.

We happily shared the terraces with Ebbsfleet before they got promoted and happy to do the same with the folk from Wealdstone.  No trouble then and unlikey to be any now.

We were pretty united a few seasons ago when both sets of fans jeered an awful ref from the pitch over at their place.

No segregation Saturday - none needed IMO.

Definitely need some sort of segregation in the future.

The club should have a referendum on the way to go.  Old Fans one end and new fans the other or should it be a strict Hardcore/Softcore divide?  A split based on whether you were a fan of James White or not could be the way to go or even a Ryan Hayes knockers and lovers divide?

Maybe a drummers/non drummers divide?  An executive box should do the trick.  Soundproof of course and located somewhere on the golf course?

Sticking the drummers in a soundproof box on the golf course?  Now there's an idea.   :-)

Excellent idea. However, we'll need a venn diagram to allocate punters to their paddock.

Me - Hardcore (obviously) / Old Fan (as Hardcore decides the date) / Ryan Hayes lover / James White n/a.

Anyone else in that paddock? As I am organising our first Jolly Boys day out.

Can you clarify the n/a? If it stands for "no athleticism" then I'm in.
