So farewell then, brave chariot...
« on: February 02, 2012, 03:04:03 PM »

See that one of the King's Ferry double deckers ran into some trouble ( or more precisely a roundabout) this morning.

I bet it's taken us on at least some of our memorable days out over the last couple of years.

The driver's ok, which is the main thing. Must have been a bit of a shock - glad that he's walked away from the accident and i'm sure we all send him our best wishes.

Glad everyone was ok after this accident..........maybe if the machanics are ok and the bodywork can be repaired (bet few of us DFC fans would like a few bodywork repairs............. xwhis), then why not DFC sponsor this grand old chariot with Kings Ferry (at a reasonable price of course........), so we can use it as and when we need it.....not sure what the upkeep would be compared with the hire costs  xshrug

Could be very useful next season in the BS(S/P)

Finally, probably the reason for the accident was down to the fact it felt upset about not having a trip to Maidenhead this weekend

I travel everyday with Kings Ferry to work and the driver was telling me this morning what happened. .Apparently the driver of the Decker was on medication and blacked out at the wheel .He flew through the air for 29 feet, hiiting a roundabout and wiping out a roadsign and a tree. Fortunately he had no passengers at the time and amazingly walked away with little but cuts and bruises.

If he caused that much damage to a roadsign and a tree it is amazing that this lucky driver was able to walk after his flight, let alone only have cuts and bruises - he must be Superman    xwhis xwhis xwhis

Seriously it is good to hear that nobody was seriously hurt.

I agree. When I first read it I thought he wasn't wearing his seatbelt & must have been a hefty bloke to wipe out a roadsign & a tree after going flying for 29 feet. Still, glad he's ok.
