The Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield

The Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield was created in July 2006 when it was decided to hold a regular vote for 'Man of the Match' after each competitive match. It was originally named the Babs Leach Memorial Shield after Dartford Football Club Life President Fred Leach's wife who passed away.

In 2009, the decision was taken to rename the shield to the Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield in honour of former director and regular Pure DFC reader, John Towersey who lost his battle with cancer.
